"_______, I'm home!" Toshinori called out, making his way into the kitchen of the home you shared. After he finished setting down a few bags of groceries on the counter, he still hadn't heard you respond to his call. This of course concerned him slightly. "_______? Are you home?"
Abandoning the groceries, Toshinori began to search his home for you, wondering why you weren't responding to him. You were here when he left for food, and he wasn't gone that long either. Checking his room, the living room, closets, and spare rooms, not a trace of you could be found. Confused, he leaned up against the wall in the hall and sighed in frustration.
"Where the hell could she have gone? I was going to surprise her with a nice dinner for our anniversary as a gift." He pouted, arms crossed. "Though I guess it's not her fault. She didn't know. Obviously."
Scoffing at himself, he pushed off the wall and headed for the bathroom to splash his face with water and clear his mind. Upon entering and turning on the light though, he was surprised to see a note taped to the center of the mirror. Looking at it closely, he read it out loud to himself.
Happy anniversary Toshi! Sorry I left so suddenly, but don't worry! I didn't forget our special day. In fact, I have a special surprise for you! The only condition is you gotta find me first. So come get your surprise Toshi! I'll be waiting~. Hint: I'm at the place where I first told you that I loved you. Love, _______.
Staring at the little note, he smiled, relieved that you hadn't gone off and done something crazy, or forgot what today was. Now he had a new task though, and that was finding out where you were.
"Where she first told me that she loved me... God it's been a while. Where was it?" He mumbled to himself, taking the nota and pacing into his room while pondering your whereabouts. Then it hit him as he stood at the foot of his bed, eyes lighting up. "The park. That's where she is! The one she cased me down into just to ask me out and reassure me. Of course."
Chuckling to himself, he sighed and put the note down, deciding to change his clothing to be something nicer. A white dress shirt that actually fit his figure and black dress pants was what he selected, deciding to look nice before he met up with you on your special day. Spending a few extra minutes smoothing down his clothes, Toshinori finally had himself together and prepared to leave. Before he set foot out of his room though, he grabbed a small velvet box that was hidden away in the back of a drawer and slipped it into his pocket. His gift; he was still going to give it to you after all. Now all he had to do was find you and see what that surprise was that you had waiting for him.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Toshinori walked a good twenty minutes towards the park you had confessed at downtown, the evening air leading him on his way. It wasn't too far thankfully, and upon reaching the edge where pavement turned to lush green grass, he found the park to be empty aside from a lone figure standing with their back to him, eyes on the approaching sunset. Getting closer, it was incredibly obvious that it was you, standing in a pastel yellow dress with a picnic blanket laid out at your feet. It was dotted with wine and snacks: the perfect anniversary combo.
"_______! I've found you!" He called out, catching your attention.
Hearing his voice made you smile brightly as you turned around to face him, your dress fluttering elegantly while you held a bouquet of sunflowers to your chest. You looked like the sun itself, bright and cheerful as ever with only good intentions.
"You did find me!" You smiled. "Congrats! You get to enjoy your surprise now!" You told him, extending the flowers out to him.
He jogged up to you and embraced you in a warm hug, kissing your forehead sweetly before accepting the flowers. "This is wonderful _______. I... Don't know what to say. You planned all this yourself just for me. Amazing." He said, starting to get teary eyed.
