3rd person POV

(Y/n) stirred awake, feeling herself inside the gel like magic by the girl from before and being exhausted due to overuse of her magic and mana. 'Where am I?' She thought to herself while her eyes wandered to her surroundings, her sight blurry.

She could make out figures infront of her and they all seem to be wearing white cloaks, just like those who they fought with awhile ago. Her eyes widened but kept silent, trying to figure out why she was with them instead of her allies.

"I heard that Catherine was captured, though." She heard a girl speak from beside her and it was the cloaked female with gel magic.

"Who the hell cares for that old hag?" Rades scoffed. "Hag..." "We got what we went there for, so who cares?"

"By the way, Sally..." Valtos trailed and turned to the girl who's behind them. (Y/n) acted like she was still unconscious beside Asta while she listened to them talk, waiting for them to spill information that could be important. "We won't be able to take those brats with us."

"Kill them." (Y/n) almost choked at his words but held it in. 'Kill?! What the heck, line face!'

"What? No way! They have unique magic! This is on a different level! I'm going to use them for my research!" Sally exclaimed, waving her arms around while (Y/n) deadpanned. 'O-on second thought... I'd rather die than be an experiment... Line face, I'm ready to non exist! J-just get me away from this girl!'

She then noticed Asta stir awake and felt relieved. "Only those acknowledged by the master can go there." Someone spoke, catching (Y/n)'s attention and she listened carefully. "Don't cause any more unnecessary trouble. Kill them before our master arrives."

"Aw..." Sally whined and Rades grinned. "I know! Let me kill them! I'll make them into my toys!" "Shut up, Rades." (Y/n) thought hard on how to escape while they continued to converse, nudging Asta lightly to get his attention.

"Asta." She whispered and he turned his head to her. Before she could utter another word, somebody already noticed them. "Hey, you're awake." (Y/n) felt a shiver run down her spine at the sound of the high pitch voice. She whipped her head to the side and made eye contact with Sally who had a huge smile on her face.

"You two should help me convince them! I want to study everything about you and your grimoires, and do some experiments, and then dissect you in the end! You want every last cell of yours to help with my research, right? Right? Right? Right?" Sally excitedly uttered while Asta and (Y/n) stared at her in horror. 'She's really bad news!' '(Insert your own thoughts...)'

Both of them couldn't move nor run and were surrounded by enemies, they knew this was a bad situation and struggled to think of any escape.

"Please? I'll ask properly, so please?"

"Don't blame me for whatever happens."
- Valtos

"Give them to me!"
- Rades

"Nope!"
- Sally

Footsteps then approached the group. "Hi there. I've been waiting for you." Asta and (Y/n)'s eyes widen upon seeing the Wizard King standing not far from them.

The group of enemies were shocked too, and recognized who he is. "The Wizard King, Julius Novachrono?!"

"How was the royal capital?" Julius asked. "Kill him!" Before they could attack, he appeared infront of them and knocked a few of them down immediately.

"I-impossible..." A cloaked man muttered and Julius just smiled. "I killed them. It would've been too difficult with your numbers... Restraining all of you, I mean."

They tried attacking him again but failed. "You guys attacked the royal capital, right? You didn't actually kill people without being ready to die yourselves, did you?" A smile remained on Julius' face.

'W-woah... He looks mad even when he's smiling like that...' (Y/n) thought and he continued. "That being said, you all seem pretty skilled. You'll probably give me some trouble. How about it? I'll let one of you survive, so why not surrender? It'll be first come, first served. What do you think?"

Rades gritted his teeth. "Don't underestimate us!" They attacked him all at once but none of them landed a single hit. "I guess I have no choice. I might be able to handle these numbers."

"Time Binding Magic: Chrono Stasis."

All of them were now in a ball of time, unable to move. "I guess I was able to restrain all of you. Were you more worn out than I thought? See how it feels like to live in one unending moment."

Asta and (Y/n) dropped to the ground after being released by the gel magic. Julius approached and stood infront of them. "You want to become the Wizard King/Queen someday, right?" The two listened to his words. "In that case, watch carefully and don't look away. This is only a small fraction of what you'll have to surpass."

(Y/n) POV

'I have to get stronger... damnit! Why do I have to be so weak?!' I clenched my fists, glaring down at the floor. 'If I truly want to protect everyone, I need to get stronger... I need to surpass them!' I noticed a hand being held out and I looked up to see the Wizard King holding his hand out for Asta and I. "Can you stand?" The two of us struggled to, but were able to stand on our own.

I felt my legs shaking, but I suppressed it and kept on a brave face. "I guess you didn't need my help." He uttered and looked behind him at the enemies that were binded.

"All of you had some interesting magic. I was surprised. Now, then... I have some questions for you all." We watched him walk towards a... stone wall? "What are these jewels and this stone slab? I've never seen these characters or patterns before. What are you trying to accomplish with this?" While he interrogated the group, I walked towards the stone and traced my hands over the characters. They looked... familiar.

"Hey, Drea?" I whispered and I could tell she was listening from inside my mind. "Doesn't this look similar to the characters in my grimoire? The... ancient magic?" I tilted my head and she finally showed herself, sitting on my shoulder and gasping when she saw the stone slab.

"Drea?" She shook her head, crossing her arms and looking away. "Yeah... they do.." I nodded and stared at the jewels, spacing out a bit and my eyelids becoming heavy. 'Ah... I'm exhausted...' I rubbed my eyes harshly, forcing them to stay open and pinched myself to stay awake. 'Not now...!'

Suddenly, the slab began to glow, making me take a step back. 'Something's coming...' I shielded my eyes with my arm from the blinding light that came from behind the stone, squinting them.

A figure appeared above the stone, his cloak swaying in the air with his braids and his golden irises that looked mesmerizing... wait. My eyes widened as I stared at him. 'H-he's.. I've seen him before! But... but where?!' He glanced at me, the corners of his lips lifting as he did.

"It's good to see you again, (Y/n)-chan."
