"Anyone who ever held you
Would tell you the way I'm feeling
Anyone who ever wanted you
Would try to tell you what I feel inside." – Stars, Simply Red
Lawrence: Cha, how are you? Sorry we lost touch. Dina tried to win me back pero ayaw ko na (I don't want anymore).
Chairmaine: Law! ok lang (It's ok). I've been busy. Just finished the year end issue of my online publication last December. January I had to attend to some domestic stuff for my parents at home while busy applying for another engagement. It's good you messaged me. I'm going to Costa Rica in March, the University where I studied there invited me to give a class on humanitarian communications because of my field experiences. They're going to provide me with a ticket to go there and back home. Ain't that cool?
Lawrence: When in March? That's my birth month. Would be nice to relax and have a change of scenery.
Chairmaine: Will be there March 15-30. If I don't get a job after that I might extend for two weeks in April for a mini vacation, there's so much there that I wasn't able to see.
Lawrence: Sounds great! Will apply for a leave then and join you, is it ok?
Chairmaine: Sure! I'm staying at Ciudad Colon with my foster family – do you want me to ask for a hotel recommendation for you?
Lawrence: If you're foster family has an extra room I would like to stay there too!
Chairmaine: I'll ask them! Keep in touch Law. I don't use Viber or WhatsApp but will give you my mobile numbers so we can be in touch more often for the trip.
Lawrence: Sure Cha! will give you my no. too. Better yet. I'll try to get hold of a Philippine SIM card so you won't be charged so much when you text me.
Chairmaine: Sounds good Law! Gotta run. Have an editorial meeting and another meeting for a writing gig I took. Ingat! (take care!)
Lawrence: You too, Cha! #
Phil: Kuya, did you tell her?
Lawrence: Tell her what?
Phil: That you had a big crush on her during high school that's why you called her that night because you wanted to visit her at home.
Lawrence: No. I'm afraid she won't feel the same way and only sees me as a friend.
Phil: Kuya, I don't think she would talk to you like that or reach out after so many years if you're only a friend to her. Maybe you're special to her too.
Lawrence: I don't know Phil. I've been through two divorces and I have kids already I think she'd want someone who doesn't have so much baggage.
Phil: It's up to you. What if this is your chance? finally your chance?
Lawrence: I will let fate decide. I'm meeting her in Costa Rica in March. I'm going there for my birthday and she's going to be there too for an engagement at her old University. #
