jungwon and jay, they're a perfect couple. they met during their freshman years in college.
it was jungwon who had an interest with the other at first. he would watch jay from afar whenever he got the chance to and smile at almost everything he does. weird and creepy for others but he just like the guy so much. he never got the chance to talk with jay tho, until sunoo found out about his bestfriend's crush.
"so you like jay hyung?" sunoo said in a teasing tone.
"shut up! someone might hear you." he scold the older. "yes, i do like him. can you please help me with him?
"of course! i'll do anything for my bestfriend." sunoo was acting too cheerful and excited about this that he even pinch jungwon's cheeks too hard, thinking that his friend has grown up as if he was the one who raised him. "what do i have to do?"
jungwon thought for a moment before he smiled. "i'll do something simple but enough for him to know how much i like him"
so from that day on, jay started to receive a letter and sometimes it comes with a chocolate from sunoo.
"another delivery for jay hyung!" sunoo said handing him a cute envelope that contains the letter.
"seriously when are you gonna tell me who is this from? curiousity is already eating me up." jay said as he opens the envelope and starts reading it.
he let our a smile as the words that were written melts his heart. he won't admit it outloud but receiving letters from that unknown person makes him happy.
jungwon watches from a distant and his heart skip a beat when he saw the wide smile plastered on his love interest.
"when are you gonna confess to him that it was you who keeps on sending him those letters?" ni-ki, who was beside him, asked.
"when will you confess to sunoo hyung that you've like him for years?" jungwon asked back making the younger rolls his eyes and shut up.
jungwon and sunoo were on their way to their next class when they halted, seeing a girl in front of jay and she was confessing to him.
it wouldn't bother jungwon that much, well it actually will, but what the girl was telling jay lies. she was taking credit for all those letters that jungwon wrote.
"jungwon i think you bet-" sunoo was surprised to see that his bestfriend wasn't beside him anymore. he was stomping his way towards jay and the unknown girl.
"i hope you appreciated my letters for you jay. i was too shy to give it to you myself so i made sun--"
"what do you mean YOUR letters? i was the one who wrote that!" jungwon cut her off, surprising the two.
the girl tried to act clueless. "what are you saying? it was me who wrote it. he's lying jay!"
"oh really?" jungwon smirked, "i have proofs that it was from me. i was actually just about to give jay hyung another one." he hurriedly got something from his bag and there was an envelope very familiar with jay already.
it's the same envelope that he's been receiving for the past few months. he was in a state of shock, he didn't expect to find out who the sender was today.
sunoo step in the scene to back up jungwon. "stop taking credit of what my friend has work on. you can leave now."
the girl gave them a glare before walking out. jungwon stood proudly until his eyes met jay's. that's when it sink in his mind that he just straight up expose himself.
"i finally got to know whose been sending me all those letters."
"uh y-yes... i guess you did haha" jungwon can't find the right words to say. it wasn't part of his plan today to let jay know who he was. "surprise?"
jay chuckled. "yup but i don't mind it being you. wanna go out this Saturday?"
the two started to go out every chance they get. with their little dates, they started to get to know each other more and in the end they became a couple.
their relationship was blissful. going out every once in awhile. even if they're busy with school they'll still find a way to spend time together. they will have study dates, even helping each other whenever one of them doesn't understand a topic and have cuddle breaks in between as they talk about their future, together.
they don't only help each other with those kind of things, they also help each other to grow. they were learning from each other.
everyone around them supported them and some even envies them for they are a dream pair. all of them can see that they love each other so much.
they are perfect.
they were perfect.
too perfect that jungwon never expected things to go wrong for them.
jungwon holds back his tears as he watch his jay hyung stood in front of the altar. he's happy, very happy that jay found his happiness even if it wasn't with him.
he sigh, remembering what happened. the dark days of their relationship.
jungwon knows jay well enough to know that the older is just pretending. pretending to stll be in love with him when in reality he has fallen for someone else already.
he was resting his head on the older's chest while jay's arms was wrap around him. it wasn't warm like before anymore, it felt cold. also even if they were just beside each other, jay felt distant. he was there but jungwon can't feel his presence. it was obvious that jay's mind was elsewhere.
jungwon knows thst the elder was thinking of someone else while they were the one together. he knows jay wanted to be with someone else."
"jay hyung..." he called for him.
"hm?"
"can you say you love me?"
"why?"
"just say it. please?"
"i love you." it was suppose to assure him, make him smile like it did before. but it felt cold and force. like jay was only saying it because he was obliged to.
that's why the day after that, he decided to let go of him. not because he wanted to but because he needed to.
"go hyung, go chase your happiness."
and jay did as told. now he was marrying her in front of jungwon.
"are you okay?" sunoo ask him from beside. he can feel how jungwon was just trying to mask out what he trully feels.
"of course i am." was the only words he could say. he was afraid that if he keeps on talking, he wouldn't be able to held back his tears anymore.
he looks back at the scene in front of him. he smiles as he see the way jay looks at her, his eyes clearly tells how dear she is to him.
i guess he was a fool for thinking there was a happy ending for them.
