By the time the sun comes up, Ashley and I are already gone. Since we both have a car, we filled up both and hit the road as fast as we could.

"Hey Pete." Pete calls about half-way there.

"Hey, did you guys leave already?" Before leaving this morning, I made sure to text him and tell him what was going on, so he doesn't go to an empty dorm room.

"Yea, figured we get it over with."

"True, well I'll be down around noon. Do you need anything?"

"I don't think so, but I'll let you know once we're there." Ashley is in front of me as we pull into a Target to grab some supplies.

"Sounds good Clem." He hangs up the phone and I pull in next to Ashley. My phone starts to buzz again. This morning when I looked at it, it was Damon asking where I was again. Now, he is trying to call me. Just breath.

"Hello." Be strong.

"Clem, where the hell have you been?" He says sternly and my face starts to heat up with anger.

"I guess I could ask you the same thing."

"What are you talking about?"

"Well, let's see, I needed you yesterday. I needed you because for once in my life I actually had the confidence to face my mother and tell her the truth. I was a mess Damon and you were the person I wanted to confine in. But, after the fourth time calling and just getting your voicemail, I gave up."

"Clem, I..." I cut him off. NO.

"But you weren't answering because you were keeping yourself occupied with the red head, right?" No response.

"Ashley saw us, no Clem, it's not what you think. I would never do that to you!" He's frantic.

"I'm done Damon." Tears start slowly coming down my face. "I'm done with the lies and secrets."

"Clem, I'm on my way over!"

"Don't bother...I no longer live there." I hang up the phone before he says anything else. Moments later my phone starts to buzz and doesn't stop until I turn it off. I take a deep breath, wipe the tears off my face, and get out of the car.

"Everything okay?" Ashley looks at me worried.

"Yea, just breaking ties from the past." The lump in my throat is still there and my heart is beating out of my chest. This is why I never wanted another relationship, because I never wanted to feel this way...

Ashley walks over to me and hugs me tightly, "Clem, we need this. A fresh start, a new beginning, and in a couple of months a new city." She's right. I nod and she releases me.

Since the apartment is furnished, we only need a couple of kitchen, bathroom, pool, and cleaning supplies. I decide to get a new bag for next semester. New beginning, new lucky charm.

"Alright, let's get going." Ashley shuts the trunk and I walk towards my car. Out of the corner of my eye, a black SUV pulls away with dark tinted windows.

"Clem, are you coming?" Ashley yells out the window and I jump.

"Yea, sorry." I hop in the driver seat and follow her a couple blocks until we finally reach the beach house. When we pull up, it's as beautiful as I remembered it to be. Since yesterday...
