So this is a big one.
Howard and Maria Stark had problems with getting a baby. When the finally managed it was shown that he was not healthy, and could be very ill or die when he was borne. So Howard asked this outer space guy called 451 which helped him to get a healthy baby, a perfectly healthy one. With special "powers" for making weaponry and mechanics. But Howard figured 451 had also put a 'genitic clock' on him. In which when he matured he'd die. So when he was born Howard interfered with it and made him very ill. So Maria and Howard hid him and adopted a healthy son to cover for it. That was Tony. o.o
