Prologue

Newt's POV

There I was. Just laying in the hospital bed. I just woke up from another nightmare. They were always the same. Day after day I woke up drenched in sweat. My ragged breath was just calming down when there was a voice from the door.

"Are you alright?" I looked up surprised. "I didn't expect you here." I said, "but yeah, I'm fine, just had a nightmare." The other boy frowned. "What was it about then?" "I don't recall" I lied.

I wasn't ever planning on telling him that it was about him. About him hating me, not wanting to be friends anymore or even so that he and the others would despise me for my secret and ban me. Deep in my heart I knew they would never do that. Alby wouldn't of aloud them to do it. They would look diffrently at me for sure but they wouldn't abandon me.

"I know when you're lying to me, you shuckface!" Jason said laughing, while lightly pushing my shoulder. My heart skipped a beat when he touched me, but I just laughed it of. Like I always do. I thought bitterly to myself. "Why did you do it in the first place?" Jason asked with a serious look on his face. I looked at him with a questioning look. "What are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about this," he gestured to my foot and head, "why did you jump?"
