Crab yawned for what seemed, to Milo, atleast, like the tenth time in 5 minutes. She casually followed the group, periodically looking back at Shadow, who was trailing behind.

"If you're tired, just say so and we can take a break or something," Milo muttered, slightly annoyed. "Don't just keep yawning with your mouth wide open."

Crab blinked at her over her shoulder, and yawned again, probably faking it this time, in an attempt to tease her friend. It just infuriated Milo even more, but she kept her mouth shut this time and looked away, muttering something under her breath.

Turtle simply looked at them, a bemused expression plastered on her face. Glancing back at Shadow, she slowed down to wait for him to catch up. The others continued, ignoring her, not slowing down, not even showing a sign of caring about her. But Turtle doesn't care, Turtle doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. She patiently waited for him, then, when he didn't speak, she started talking.

"What's up with you? Tired? Forgot to sleep last night because you were too busy simping for Ireland?" She spat jokingly.

This earned her a muffled chuckle, barely audible under the mask Shadow still wore.

"Just not in the right shape."

"What happened?" she insisted, determined to get an answer out of him.

"I don't even know," he muttered, averting his gaze.

"You're lying," Turtle replied in her annoyingly casual tone.

"I'm not. I'm not sure, but I have a good idea of what it might be," Shadow answered, sighing.

"Ah-ha!" Turtle exclaimed, seeming satisfied with her accomplishment. "So you were lying after all!"

Shadow grumbled, but was secretly glad that someone recognized his existence. "So what?"

"Fair enough."

They continued in silence, Shadow eventually falling back again as Turtle unconsciously quickened her pace yet again.

Abattu glanced at Shadow, the worry apparent in his eyes, then westwards, where the sun was setting.

We should stop, he thought, looking back to Crab and Turtle, who were still in the lead.

As if reading his thoughts, Maxi spared him a glance and halted. "We might wanna stop, guys."

Milo simply stared as she stopped, and settled down on the hard rocky ground next to the highway they were travelling along.

"Crab, Turtle!" Mei yelled ahead as they strayed away from the rest of the group, which was settling down for the night.

They turned and quickly ran back to the group as Maxi and Milo started arguing about canned soup. Or was it beans? It didn't matter, anyway.

"The bread is mine, I get to keep it, eat it, hoard it, whatever I wanna do with it!" Milo almost yelled to Maxi's face.

"Well, we're gonna be travelling together, so you should learn to share every once in a while," Maxi replied.

"What the fuck, man?" Milo laughed in their face. "No."

"This is communism," Maxi grumbled. "Share the fucking bread."

"How about I don't share the fucking bread?"

Slowly losing their temper, Maxi threatened, "You're gonna share the bread you fucking bitch or else you're gonna face my fucking gun."

"Bread is cool so I'm gonna eat the bread," Milo continued teasing.
