Chapter 4: The World's Response.
AN: Ok so this is a basic rundown on what happens after the second attack. I'll likely make a timeline that covers this a bit better but this is mostly what I have planned for about the next 20ish years ITTL.

The days and weeks following the second Kaiju attack were both hectic and terrifying for the denizens of the Atlantic nations. In just around three years time two known Kaiju (Godzilla and King George) had caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of individuals and devastated large parts of the United States, Ireland, Wales, and, of course, England itself. With still no clear idea where they were coming from the public was, of course, terrified of ever-increasing attacks from what was soon to become a new normal. In response to the attack from King George, mass riots would soon become a frequent part of day-to-day life in the Atlantic Nations (though the majority were found in the United States following the news of King George's attack on the southern part of Ireland and the devastation he caused as he proceeded north to the border of Scotland).
With the sift removal of the president following the first attack Biden assumed the presidency on January 19th, 2020. His first act as the 46th president of the United States was to pull back most of the United States armed forces leaving only a small token force in the United Kingdom and other areas of influence. This wouldn't be reversed until the second attack in 2022 but even so, the number of US troops found outside the United States numbered only a few tens of thousands unless deemed as vital to American interests.
On March 16th, 2022 the Atlantic Defense Treaty (ADT) was put into effect with the sole aim of finding and preventing any more Kaiju attacks in the future. To this end, trillions of dollars would be funneled into the militaries of the world and by 2030 fantastically new weapons of war would be revealed to the public able to devastate a category two Kaiju with one shot. However, with each new advancement in military tech, it would seem that the Kaija would soon evolve to better be able to battle these advances. It is from this that many prominent scientists begin to believe that these Kaiju were being intelligently designed for the sole aim of attacking humanity. However, most of them were viewed as loons by the general population and so were never taken seriously by the vast majority of the population. This particular trend wouldn't be altered until 2038 when a lowly intern would discover a means of linking with a Kaiju brain dubbed :Linking: it would allow small insights into the making of the Kaija, however, it caused him decapitating headaches upon its use. As such millions of dollars would be funneled into attempting to find a way to link up with the Kaiju without the clear disadvantages. Sadly this would prove to be impossible and so this would be deemed too dangerous by 2042 and any attempts to do so outlawed.
