Chapter 4- The Common Room

Y/n P.O.V

As we walked to the Slytherin dorm in the dungeons, I see Draco and his gang bullying a couple of first years. I want to stop him but he has a reputation to uphold, and I don't want to annoy him. He is my older brother and I don't want him mad at me. We continue walking down the stairs into a cold hallway, making some of us shiver. We pass the Potions room and find our common room entrance. Some one of the older years up front says the password and let's us enter one by one. I look around the huge common room, black marble for the walls. I see a fireplace with a beautiful lime green fire burning inside it. Around the fireplace was some dark green leather couches, a great style for Slytherin. The Head Boy and Head Girl told us that our bags are in our rooms, boys on the left and girls on the right. I walk up with a couple other girls into our room, finding my bed and hopping onto it. See the others looking at me confused and shocked made me uncomfortable.

" Uh... Hi?" I say to them all, " I'm Y/n Malfoy. Nice to meet you." I tell them. Apparently this shocked them even more. Then one of the girls, a dark brown haired girl who's bed is in front of mine spoke first.

" Hi, I'm Cathryn, Cathryn Skinner." She introduces herself. Her hair was waist length and curly, her eyes a shining blue. She seemed really nice. She had some light mascara on and she was really pretty. The other two in the room were still staring at me, one had short shoulder blond hair and forest green eyes, the other had long black hair tied in a braid. Blonde had so much foundation and had a bratty vibe, and the other look like a follower of hers.

" Well my names Olivia, Olivia Kentaburg." Her voice was nice but snobbish. She flicked her blond hair, trying to make herself look better.

" And I'm Horizon, Horizon Swezel." She said, almost nervous and shy. She look very pretty with freckles across her nose. I nod and go to my trunk, finding some clothes to wear to bed. I grab out a baggy f/c long sleeve shirt and some s/f/c tights to put on. I go out to the bathroom, have a shower and get dressed. I head up back to our room when k hear some voices.

"--- That because she's Malfoys sister that she can get away with anything." I hear Olivia saying behind the door. I feel my stomach drop at what I was hearing. Becuase of my brother people think I'm entitled? Becuase I'm a Malfoy? They barely even know me and they're judging me. Anger started boiling inside of me, putting my hand on the door knob.

" Hey! Just because she's a Malfoy doesn't mean she's a git like her brother. Heck she probably doesn't even want to be his sister for all we know." Kathryn said, defending me. My anger subsides a bit, sighing at the fact that someone understands. Again I put my hand on the door knob and twist it. They were all on their bed still, looking at me standing in the doorway. I wave, smile and head to my bed. I say my goodnight and pretend to go to bed. They didn't say anything else, they all said goodnight. I drift into a dreamless sleep.

Yawning, I sit up and stretch my arms. Looking around the room I see everyone else asleep accept Cathryn, her messy bed hair cover in her face. I look over to see she is reading ' A Stardard Book of Spells, Year 1 '. I look at the time and see it's 7:30. I grab a robe, tie and some other things to get dressed. After I get dressed and put my hair up into (choose hair style), I decide to hang out with Cathryn. I wait for her at the common room entrance. I see her walk down the girls stairs, I wave and smile at her. She's shocked at first but accepts it and walks over.

" Hi!" She says energetically, smiling at me. I smile more at this gesture, making me feel human.

" Hi, you ready to go to breakfast?" I ask, hoping she will be my first friend without Draco trying to force them on me.

" Sure, I'm hungry!" She says, starting to walk over to the Great Hall without me.

" Hey! Wait up!" I yell, running after her. She starts laughing and jogging away from me, making me rub faster to catch up. Turning the corner I run into someone, knocking both of us over and causing their friends gasp. I run my head.

" Oh my GOD! I am so sorry, i didn't mean to run into you. Are yo-" I say before I get cut off.

" Shut it Malfoy." I hear, looking up to see Ron in front of me. I stand up and offer him a hand. He hits it away, getting up on his own.

" Sorry for bothering you guys. I'll see you later maybe." I say before running to the Great Hall to find Cathryn. What is his deal? He is only judging me on what my brother has done to them and the fact I'm a Malfoy. I start running quicker, finding Cathryn and sitting next to her.

" Hey? What happened to you? You were right on my tail then I lost you." She said concerned.

" I just ran into Harry and his friends... literally. I ran into his friend Ron..." I say.

" Did you push him really hard sis?" I hear Dracos cocky voice from behind me. I turn around to see him standing here, Crabbe to his left and Goyle to his right. I look over to Cathryn and see her staring at my brother. I kick her slightly, knocking her out of her trance. She looked at me innocently and then went back to breakfast.

" I didn't mean to run into them Drac. And you put of all people should know I don't like starting fights." I say, he groans and goes sitting somewhere else. I huff in annoyance, and start eating. Draco could be nice... its just takes him a lot of motivation to do so. Like when we were 5 and 6, I hurt my knee falling down the stairs. Mum was out downtown and Dad didn't care, i was crying so much that day. I walked up the stairs shakly, trying to get to my room. Once I got there I collapsed and sobbed my heart out. I didnt know how to help my knee, and it didn't seem like anyone was going to help me. Then my door opened and Draco was there, looked at me horrified. He walked out and I started crying again, thinking no one was going to help me. Then a minute later Draco came back with some band-aids, and he started saying that everything will be ok. He doesn't let that happen because he's scared of what people will think of him when he's a powerful Malfoy. One of the Professors started handing out our timetables, I scan mine to see what I have first.

Monday:
9:00 am- Charms with Hufflepuff
10:00 am- DADA with Gryffindor
11:00 am- Herbology with Ravenclaw
12:00 pm- Lunch
1:00 pm- Transfigureation with Gryffindor
2:00 pm- Flying Lessons with Hufflepuff
3:00 pm- Potions with Ravenclaw
4:00 pm- History of Magic with Ravenclaw
6:30 pm- Dinner
12:00 am- Astronomy with Hufflepuff

" What classes you got today?" Cathryn asked me, looking over my shoulder to see.

" Well I have Charms, then DADA, and Herbology before lunch." I explain, showing her my timetable. I look at hers, seeing she's with me I with in relief. " Well I better go get my books ready, want to join me?" I ask.

" Nah, I'm good. I got all my books and put them in my bag this morning." She said, picking up her bag.

" Well I'll see you later then." I say, waving to her and heading to my dorms.
