"Mum! How long till there here!?" I groaned as I ran to my mum, who was in the kitchen. "Not long dear," She replied as she continued to make dinner, "you must remember, they are coming from half way across the country." I huffed and rested my chin against the palm of my hand and my elbow on the kitchen counter, "I know mum. I just can't wait so see him!"I began pacing around the room and jumping with excitement a couple times as I continued. "I mean, I haven't seen him since I was fourteen! That's almost two years ago! What if-" I was cut off when a buzz came from the intercom next to the front door. I squealing in excitement, I ran to it. I held down the button and spoke into it, "yes?" I said with a smile. "Charlie darling!" A sweet voice echoed through the speaker, "it's-" the voice gets cut off by a much deeper sounding voice, "Hey Charls! Open the gate for us will you?" I'd missed his voice, my best friend. I was ecstatic once I knew they were here.
I'd changed a lot since the last time he saw me. I had grown a few inches taller and was now five foot two. I had grown into more of a woman's body and my wavy, light brown hair had grown a lot more and was now down to the bottom of my back, almost at my bum. He had obviously changed a lot too, I could tell by the sound of his voice. It was a lot deeper and I couldn't wait to see what else had changed.
"Coming Dray!" I shouted as I ran out the door and sprinted across the large field to where the gate was that entered Fox's property. I was wearing my Slytherin quidditch practice tee, and some black leggings as it was quite warm outside. I could see three silhouettes in the distance and I ran even faster. When I got closer to the gate I slowed down to catch my breath. I saw him and his slight smirk turned into a full smile. He was a lot taller than the last time I'd seen him. He had to be at least taller than six foot and his hair was now in curtains dripping around his face. His muscles looked stronger and fitter and his jawline was now straighter.
I pulled the large silver switch that opened the gate and the big black gates started to slowly open. It took a lot of my strength to do it as I was not very strong. Jeez I need to work out more I thought as I struggled to pull the switch. Once the gates had opened enough for him to step through he dropped his suit case and ran to me. I ran over to him too and he wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up. I rapped my arms around his neck and he spun me around. "Omg I missed you ya little bug!" He shouted and squeezed me even tighter. 'Bug' was a nickname he had given me when we were twelve years old.
We were at Hogwarts in our second year.
We were in Professor Sprout's class and were in the green house working on the mandrakes. I put my hand on the table and looked down to see a massive beetle about to crawl on my hand. "AAAAAAAHH! A bug!!" I screamed as loud as I could and hid behind Draco, who was stood next to me. Draco and the rest of our Slytherin friends burst out into laughter as well as some Gryffindor boys who were opposite us. Malfoy was still chuckling as he grabbed his herbology book and slammed it on the table to squish the beetle.
"Enough of the fuss! Let's get back to it!" Professor Sprout insisted and continued to talk to the class. "You made all that fuss over a cute little bug?" He whispered to me after he had calmed down from laughing so much. "Cute?!" I whisper-shouted at him with a disgusted look on my face, "you think that was cute!?" He chuckled and looked back at his mandrake who was comfortably sitting in the pot, not knowing it was about to be moved to another home. He looked back at me and smirked, "That's gunna be your new nickname from now on," he said as he looked down at me, "Bug. Cause your small, cute and you scare people." I thought about it for a second before answering, "I don't weather that was supposed to be a complement, or an insult. But I'm gunna go with complement." Then we both went back to listening to Professor Sprout and continued with our herbology lesson. And he's called me it ever since. It can get annoying sometimes but other times it doesn't bother me cause I'm used to it. "We still using that nickname Draco?" I smiled to him as he put me down. "Course! What else would I call you?!" He smirked and I rolled my eyes. His mother and father - Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy- had now caught up to us with their bags and set them down on the grass. "How lovely it is to see you again Charlie!" Narcissa said and leaned in for a hug. I hugged her back and said, "It's lovely to see you too Narcissa." I looked over to Lucius and he smiled with the left half of his mouth, "How ya doing Charl?" He said and held out his fist. I fist bumped him and replied, "I'm doing good Lucius."
