Reiko tapped her pen against her chin, staring down at her blank worksheet. She had been looking down at it for about... ten minutes? She glanced up at the clock. "I don't get it!" She sighed, holding her head in her hands.
She felt someone pat her back, looking behind her and seeing Takemi. She sighed. "Can't you help me, Taki? You're smart!"
Takemi rose a brow, tilting his head a bit. "Oh— okay... what is it? Like, math or..." He looked at her worksheet. It was math.. of course.
Reiko had always had trouble with math, and numbers in general. She didn't know why, but it was just hard for her. All the numbers mushed together in her brain and she just couldn't understand, no matter how hard she tried and how much she studied. Her parents were never able to help her or anything, so she had been suffering with this for a while.
"Math.." She answered a bit quietly. She was a freshman in college.. and she still didn't understand math. She thought it was a bit embarrassing. She watched as Takemi took a seat by her, taking out his pencil and guiding her along.
Even if Reiko didn't understand still, she appreciated Takemi by her side. She appreciated him helping.. so in return, she tried to understand. Just so that he wouldn't be wasting his time for nothing.
"Do you get it now, Rei?" Reiko snapped from her daydream, nodding a bit. She looked down at the scratch paper, seeing all of the different equations. They all turned into mush, though. She couldn't read them.
"Not... really. Um." Her face reddened. She was obviously embarrassed that she couldn't understand the work. He always tried to help her, but she never could understand. "It's okay though! Thank you... I really appreciate it, Taki." She offered him a smiled, looking down at the work.
"I'll just have to talk to the teacher then... I hope he would understand."
