"The beach? Is this the surprise?"

"No, there's more to it. Come on!" I grabbed him by his hand and led him over to the sand. No body was there cause I rented the beach out for this whole night. Of course with the help of Jesse, my dad, my mom, and Stella. Then, I added that we should have dinner on the beach while it was dark with candles, and little lights dangling around us.

"Wow, I underestimated you Riley Posey. You are a true date planner." He said taking a seat at the table.

"Well thanks. And did you say date?" I asked unsure.

"Well...uh...unless you don't want it to be." He stammered. I loved messing with him because he gets nervous a lot.

"Yeah, a date sounds much better." I smiled. When we were both sitting, I noticed that we were still holding hands from across the table. We both looked down and noticed the same thing and quickly removed them. Maybe I was blushing, but I hope Dylan didn't notice.

"Dinner is served." The waitress said, taking me and Dylan by surprise.

"How did you know exactly what I wanted?" He asked shocked.

"Are you serious? I've known you for how long exactly? I think I know what type of food you like by now Dyl." I said laughing at his shocked look.

"Wow! That was good." He said after finishing his meal. When I was done too, I decided to spark a conversation.

"So, any love interest now?" I asked. He looked at me with wide eyes. He started playing with his finger nails and I knew he was nervous by that question. That's why I asked it.

"Uh..no. None that I have met, or at least none that actually like me back. How bout you? You've been living single for a while now."

"Nope, none that I know of. If so, come somebody please just come out already and love me!" I pleaded.

Dylan's POV:

I love you. I thought to myself. Can I love you?

"Come on, let's take a walk on the beach." I suggested. I grabbed her hand and led the way.

"You know, being single for two years makes you think." She said swinging our hands while we both were still holding on. This was the best feeling in the world.

"Think what?" I asked coming back to reality.

"You know, if your ugly or not, or if your really worth loving." It took everything in my power not to turn around and kiss her to show her that she's worth more than loving.

"What? Riley, look at me." She stopped in her tracks and stared me in my eyes.

"You are the most beautiful girl I know. Honest. Your worth loving, worth caring, and worth more than you'd ever know. Trust me, I know." I said. The look in her eyes gave away a sorrow, innocent look.

"Thanks Dylan, but I don't think you have ever been single for this long. Or have you?" She asked as we continued to walk along the beach.

"Yeah, I've been saving myself for someone special." I rubbed my free hand through my hair, in a nervous way.

"Like? Do I know this person?" She asked, getting excited.

"More than you know." I muttered. But somehow, I guess she heard me.

"Omg! Dylan why didn't you tell me you liked Stella?" Oh God! She thinks I like Stella. Why?

"No, no not her. I swear." I hurried and said before she could rant on.

"Is it Anna from Starbucks? Cara? Diana?" She kept throwing names at me.

"Nope. Just think about it. But don't think about it too much. It's pretty much not too much to think about." I tried my hardest to give her a hint that I was in love with her and no one else.

"I really don't have a clue at who your talking about Dyl!" My body fumed up and nothing but anger took over my body.

"Are you serious Riley? Open your eyes. I gave you hints all night, and all this time that the girl I was waiting for was you. But obviously, you don't feel the same way." I blurted. She looked at me with a surprised look.

"Open my eyes? Open MY eyes? Open your fucking eyes Dylan! I practically threw myself at you. I planned this romantic dinner on the beach, I'm holding your hand, I'm asking about your love life. And you still haven't kissed me yet. What could possibly be standing in your way?" She snapped. If I knew that she wanted me to kiss her, I would have BEEN did that.

"Is that what you want me to do?"

"Yeah, to love me, to treat me like your girlfriend Dyl"- I interrupted her sentence and kissed her. When our lips touched, I felt a spark of fireworks.

Riley's POV:

When our lips connected, it was like something I never felt before. I felt fireworks were in the background and we were two characters in a romantic Disney movie. When we released, I starred in his big brown eyes.

"Feel better?"

"A lot!" I said relieved. While me and Dylan were walking back to the car, I felt my phone vibrate.

"Hello?" I asked as I pulled it out.

"Riles, are you and Dylan still on your date?" Tyler asked.

"No we are actually on our way home right now?"

"How long do you think it'll take?" He asked. He sounded nervous, and worried.

"Probably bout half an hour. Why what's wrong? What's going on?"

"Umm....you might want to hurry. Me and Stella are at the hospital, she needs you here with her more than she does with me."

"What happened? Is she okay? Are you guys okay?" I heard Dylan ask me something, but I ignored him.

"I'm okay, it's just Stell. Something happened with her mom."

"Oh my god! What?" I asked, know shaking.

"I'll tell you everything once you get here. Just hurry, she's going crazy!"

"I'm almost there, just comfort her for twenty one more minutes please Ty?" I begged. I know Stella was going crazy, Tyler probably doesn't know what to do with her.

"Okay. See you later." We both hung up our share of the line, and I began focusing on the road again.

"What's going on Riles? Is Tyler and Stella okay?" He asked, starring into my soul.

"I don't know, I need to go to the hospital. Did you want to go home?"

"No, I'll go to support you guys if you need me." Dylan grabbed my hand that was resting on the arm rest, and held it.

When we got to the hospital, I immediately ran through the doors with Dylan right behind me. I spotted Tyler in the waiting room and ran up to him. He stood up and gave me a hug.

"Where's Stell?" I asked him once he released.

"She's in the back with her mom. Talking to the doctor." He explained.

"What happened?" I was anxious to know.

"She was in a very bad car accident, she was rushing to go to Stella's little sister recital, and I guess she wasn't wearing her seat belt. When the car hit her head on, she flew out the windshield and onto the pavement." I could barely deal with this amount of pain. No telling what Stella was thinking and what pain she was feeling.

"Oh my god. That's so terrible." My fingers started to shake, and tears came strolling down my cheeks. Dylan wrapped his warm arms around me as I buried my face in his chest. "I have to"-I paused in my steps to see Stella coming from the back with her head down, and hand covering her mouth.

"Is she going to make it?" I asked, walking up to her. All she could do was shake her head. My heart started pacing and I couldn't control it anymore. I broke down along with Stella. All I could do was give her a comforting hug. As she cried in my shoulder, I rubbed my hand on the back of her head to assure her it's going to be okay.
