Upon arrival, she stepped ahead of him and allowed herself entrance. The creaking of the door as it became ajar stifled the silence, being the only sound that raised the dust. As she stepped forward, she thought, my devil! I never expected this, surprised was an understatement to say the least. Quinn shoved her slightly as he closed the door behind him.
Everything was exactly as he left it, except for the freshly collapsed tower, thank God it was miniature. Why is it so quiet? Worry knotted in his gut, triggering a visible magnitude of perspiration. When he spotted it, the knots developed into bile and saliva coating his insides. But he swallowed hard, his nosed turned up at the disemboweled creature. Is that, Inga? What happened here? LUCA?!
Just as the thoughts surfaced in Quinn's mind, Luca soothed his anxiety as he emerged from the bedroom. However, Luca appeared to be unresponsive. Like the absence of mind when you happen to overfill a cup, blended in with the sense of lost in an unfamiliar place.
His blue eyes reflected emotions of shock, horror, worthlessness, and plain tears.
"It's Paige," he began to tremble evidently, "she's not waking up."
What?
"The snake," he hinted behind him, "it bit her, it bit her."
In one swift movement, he was hugging his brother's shoulders, just in time to catch him before he buckled. There's blood on his foot. Why? Did he stomp the thing to death? I'm here now, I'm here.
"Go, doctor," he boomed, "go help her! Now!"
She jumped, but quickly regained composure to fulfill his request, "Yes, yes of course."
When he saw her, Luca's mouth fell agape, "Quinnie, who is she? She's beautiful...almost like, like, like mom."
Quinn responded, "She's here to help Paige, she's a doctor. Her name is, is, Mrs., Ms...." he started, stuttered and stalled like an engine failing to ignite. Luca shot his brother a confounded glance mixed with disapproval, causing Quin to feel embarrassed.
Shit! The one question I forgot to ask.
"Excuse me doctor, may I know your name?" Luca intreated politely.
"Ms. Inga, a pleasure to meet you Luca," but he was not her focus.
"Inga?!" they blurted in unison.
"Mmhmm, problem? I need alcohol, or boiled water, warm water on the hot side, a small knife, a razor blade would do. Um, and, and a small jar. And a bowl and clean cloth, or bandages and rags."
They stared for a moment far too long.
"Now please, she's really cold."

She made mental notes of her supplies to complete the procedure.
Paige's breathing turn into shallow struggles for air. However, as icy as her temperature was, beads of sweat formed at her temples. Inga shortened her sleeves, washed her hands, inhaled, and lowered the small blade to Paige's neck.
