before we get started, i want to make a few things clear. this story is mostly aligned with the books/movies, but there are some things i've changed. the most important thing i changed is characters ages. i really wanted to start the story at the beginning of the fourth year, because i wanted to incorporate the yule ball/triwizard tournament. however, writing about 14 year olds in a relationship made me feel very icky.
so in this story, your first year at Hogwarts starts at 13 instead of 11. so when our story begins in the 4th year, the characters are 16 years old.
that's the only major change in this story.
