"Wahhhhhh!" I cried sorrowfully.
"Princess shhh. Please don't cry." Y/N said while hugging me.
"Wahh." I sobbed more quietly.
"Don't worry princess, I'm here now and I won't let anyone harm you for as long as I live." Y/N reassured me.
'I sure hope so, because I don't want to die by that damnable Claude's hands.' I thought while sniffling. 'Please don't ever leave me Y/N'
5 years later...
Athanasia's POV
'Ahh, what a wonderful memory.' I thought while having a flashback of that day I was crying. 'I should probably take her with me when I escape. Yes, I should. That way Claude won't be able to hurt her.'
Author - But what about Lily?
'Anyways, enough of that. It's chocolate time.' I thought while running towards Hannah.
"Nanny, nanny, Athy wants cocolate!" I exclaimed cutely.
"My sweet princess, you'd like some chocolate?" Hannah asked, awestruck by my cuteness.
"Yeah, Athy loves cocolate. Athy wants a lot!" I replied, putting my hands out in front of her.
"You love chocolate that much, your highness?"
"Athy loves cocolate! Athy loves it this much!" I replied making my arms as big as I can. "Athy loves Hannah too!"
"Oh my!"
"Hannah, what are you doing?" Someone suddenly asked coldly causing Hannah to flinch.
"Ces!" Hannah exclaimed.
"Head maid Lilian and maid Y/N told you that you can't give the princess snacks as you please," Ces said, glaring daggers at Hannah.
"It's just 1 piece." Hannah urged.
"But you won't be the only one giving her snacks," Ces replied.
"Nanny," I said while pulling on Ces' dress which startled her. "But Athy wants cocolate," I whined while pouting.
"No, your highness. I really can't..."
After a while, Ces finally gave in and pulled out a handful of chocolates. "You can't tell Lilian or Y/N okay?" She said while handing me the chocolates.
"Thank you, nanny!" I exclaimed happily, then kissed her cheek.
"My Ces, you just stole my kiss!" I heard Hannah yell when I ran away.
Over the past few years, I started gathering things from the palace to help with my master escape plan. Luckily Lily and Y/N didn't notice though. My master plan is to collect objects from the palace and then sell them and run away with the money. I don't think I'll get enough money for Y/N and Lily though, plus it is too risky.
"Where are you going princess?" One of the maids asked when she saw me.
"To pick flowers!" I replied. They are for Lily and Y/N.
"But you should wipe your mouth first. Did you enjoy the chocolate?" She asked while wiping my mouth for me.
"You have to keep it a secret," I said to her while walking away.
"Yes, princess." She replied while smiling.
'Gosh, there's chocolate all over my hands. I should go clean off at the fountain.' I thought.
As I was washing my hands at the fountain, I looked into the water and saw my reflection looking back at me. 'Is this what she looks like?' I thought. 'So pretty.'
"Roses are red, violets are blue," I mumbled. "Hmm?" I looked around.
'Wait, where am I?' I thought. 'Oh great, I got lost again.'
When I was looking around, I suddenly spotted a castle nearby. I walked into the castle and nobody was there.
'Nobody's using this place? The castle is clean and it is well maintained. If no one's using this place then I can use it to hide my treasures.' I thought with my eyes sparkling.
Back at Ruby Palace...
"Li-ly." I wrote.
'Learning the language here wasn't that hard.' I thought while picking up my paper and running to the maids to show it to them. When I showed them what I wrote, all of them immediately gasped except for Y/N who just stood there and smiled happily.
"That is wonderful princess! I'm glad that you finally learned how to write Lily's name!" Y/N exclaimed happily.
"Princess you are a genius!" Lily exclaimed while the other maids either nodded their heads or shouted in agreement. Y/N and I look at them weirdly.
'I guess they don't teach reading and writing at an early age here.' I thought. And thus came forth my early education.
A few days later...
"Princess would you like a glass of milk?"
"Yeah, but I don't want it cold!"
"Alright then, I'll heat it up for you."
After Lily left to let milk for me, I immediately took my bags of riches out from under the bed and tied them to both of my legs.
'It's heavy, but I can't let them find it since they are cleaning Ruby Palace today.' I thought determinedly.
At night...
"Sweet dreams princess." Y/N said while kissing my cheek. When she left, I waited for a while, and then I sneaked out of my room and dashed outside.
I ran towards the castle that I found last time and went to a tree in the castle.
'I don't have anything to dig a hole with.' I thought while dropping my bags of riches. 'I'll have to ask Hannah for a toy shovel.' I puffed as I ran as quickly as I can back to Ruby Palace.
When I got back to Ruby Palace, I was out of breath and it was already morning. As I heard the door creak open, I immediately pretended to be asleep.
'Ah, I'm dying.' I thought as I whimpered.
"Princess it's time to..." I heard Y/N say as she walked toward my bed. "Princess, why are you sweating so much?!" She asked surprised.
"It looks like you have a slight fever. Are you okay?"
"Hng. The room is too hot. There's too much sun."
"You are right, it's already summer. I'll put the curtains up tomorrow." Y/N mumbled.
"Athy will drink cold milk please," I said weakly.
"Oh, alright. I'll go get some cold milk for you."
From that day on, I continued going back and forth a few times without getting caught. I am honestly very happy living like this, but within these walls, live a time-ticking bomb named Claude.
