_______________
Gun pursed his lips to hide the wide grin on his face as Off's arms tightened around him. He always liked being hugged by Off, but being human during his hug with the man was so much better.
"Gun?" Tay's eyebrows shot up. "Do you call him it Gun?"
"It's an affectionate nickname," Off said quickly. He purrs.
"Seriously?"
Gun groaned. "He didn't mean that."
"It's okay, Gun," said Off. "I'm sure my brother understands."
Gun was sure Tay didn't understand. How could the man had idea what he had just walked into, and Gun wasn't about to tell it to him, not unless it was badly needed.
And right now, it wasn't necessary.
When Tay stepped away from the doorframe and headed for one of the stools, Gun wanted to bang his head against the counter. The longer Tay was here, the harder it would be to keep things away from him.
Someone was destined to fall at some point and then Tay would know everything.
"We were getting ready to go out for something to eat," Off said.
"Great." Tay smiled as if he knew exactly what Off was trying to do. "I'm going with you."
"Oh!" Gun started to jump, drool pooling in his mouth from the smell he remembered of those special treats Off brought home. "Can we go to that place with the gold letter in the bag? I've always wanted to go there."
Tay's face was expressionless. "McDonald's?"
"Is that the name?" Gun's rebounds increased, his body vibrating. "Their fries are delicious."
"Have you never been to McDonald's?" Tay asked.
"That food isn't good for you, Gun," said Off, at exactly the same time.
Gun frowned. "You eat there all the time. You bring bags home from there at least twice a week."
Tay's eyebrows shot up. "What do you mean? How did you know?"
Gun pursed his lips again when Off deliberately opened his eyes as he looked down at him. He got the message loud and clear. If he didn't get a hold of himself ... and his mouth ... Tay was going to know everything.
Gun didn't know Tay as well as he knew Off. He liked the guy quite a bit too. Tay always stroked him gently, and he smelled good. Not as good as Off but Gun was pretty sure that no one on earth smelled as good as Off.
"Oh, I just wanted to say that I've seen Off with bags before." Gun stuck one of those fake smiles on his face like the ones he'd seen in Off when he was talking to someone he didn't feel like talking to.
Tay looked at Gun critically. "How long have you two known each other?"
"Oh, a while," Gun answered easily because it was the truth. Five years is a long time.
"How come I've never heard of you before?"
"Um ..." Gun who didn't have an answer for that, at least not an answer that wouldn't scare Tay away and eventually lead Gun to a cage.
"I don't talk about everything with you, Tay." Off insisted haughtily.
Even though Gun internally recognized that Off was lying through his teeth because he told his brother everything, he saw a flash of pain in Tay's eyes before the man looked away.
