Gun stretched out on his soft pile of cushions, spreading his arm over his head as he moved his legs into the fading sunlight. He loved this time of day.

He loved the inner atrium connected to the new house that Tay had found to be even better.

Not only was there plenty of sun coming in for Gun to stretch out, there were grass and trees for Sing inside the large glass enclosure and a pool for New. The three of them probably spent more time in the heated room than anywhere else.

While money didn't mean much to Gun, he was beginning to understand that his sexy scientist was loaded. The house Tay had helped Off buy was huge, four stories, twenty-three bedrooms, double the bathrooms, and an entire basement that Tay had turned into a state-of-the-art lab for Off.

The advantage, Off now worked from home. The entire estate was surrounded by a high security wall and a surveillance system of the highest quality. Armed guards guarded the gate and patrolled the grounds, all controlled and hired by
Joss, who insisted on the best.

From the looks the security expert kept giving Sing, Gun was pretty sure the man had ulterior motives.

Anyone who did not comply with its rules was immediately fired. Anyone who breathed a word about who lived on the expensive estate ... well, Gun had heard rumors that he would rather not know the truth.

After clearing the lab of everything Off might need to investigate the formula that was being used to transform animals into humans, Joss had done something to burn the old warehouse to the ground.

The newspapers reported that Tul was a homeless man occupying the abandoned warehouse. Gun was fine with that. It meant that nothing would lead them back to their scientist.

A body was found near the warehouse a couple of days after the fire. The description of the victim had been shared with the media, and Gun, Off, and Tay all recognized the man as Dr. Hayashi. They had kept that information to themselves.

There had been no sign of Dr. Himura. Gun didn't know how the man escaped or if he would ever return. No one else did either, which is why Tay insisted on moving to a safer location, especially when he learned that the low-level security man who had endorsed the two doctors at the GMMT lab had mysteriously disappeared.

Off had resisted at first, he didn't want to leave his childhood home but when Joss found surveillance devices inside the house, he quickly changed his mind. Cameras had been found in the bedroom, kitchen, living room, main entrance and at the entrance to the laboratory. Although it explained how Dr. Hayashi and Dr. Himura knew about Off's discovery with the nano-robot formula, it scared Gun at the thought of someone seeing him and Off together.

It made Gun feel so much better about the move. He was fine with anything that would keep him with his sexy scientist. He just wasn't sure what he was going to do with Sing and New. He loved having the company of two men who understood exactly what was going on, being a new human and all.

However, he hoped Sing and New would find their way eventually. He really hoped they would. There was a great new world for them to discover but Gun was damned happy staying in the little world he shared with his scientist.

Gun hadn't missed the way the two men were looking at Tay and Joss. Hell, he was pretty sure no one had missed it. Sing practically passed out every time Joss walked into the room, and when New wasn't arguing with Tay, he was trying to fuck his leg.

It was weird, but whatever.

He was a cat, not a dog or a rabbit.

Apparently cats had more demanding tastes.

They preferred scientists.

Gun jumped when something soft hit him on the nose and then rolled down his chest. He looked down to see a ball of red wool roll from his chest to the pile of colored cushions on which he stretched.

Gun reached out to grab the ball of red wool only to see it roll a little further.

Intrigued because come on, it was wool and as far as Gun's concern, he is still a damned cat.

Gun got to his knees and chased the elusive ball of wool.

Each time he reached for the ball of wool again, it rolled a little further out of reach. Gun followed after it , his tongue sliding out of his mouth as he maneuvered through the atrium, gliding around large rocks and between trees.

A couple of times, he jumped to grab the wool only to see it jerk out of reach.

Gun stopped when he came to a small open area. This was one of his favorite places in the glass enclosure. A small waterfall came out of the stone wall, falling into a crystal clear lagoon surrounded by bushes and trees and the most colorful flowers Gun could count.

The ball of yarn stopped in the middle of a small patch of grass by the water.

He was leaning against a skin ... lots and lots of skin. Gun instantly lost interest in the ball of yarn when something much more fun to play with caught his eye.

"Off," Gun purred.

Off smiled sensually and twisted a finger.

"Here, Gun."
