Reader's P.O.V.

I've been walking for hours through this forest. Am I seriously lost? The old lady at the inn told me that this was the way to the guild, so why am I so lost?! I walk along the forest, avoiding trees and branches, being careful to step over roots and not under. I swear, if I find out that this path was just a wild goose chase, I'm going back to the old lady and I swear, she's gonna-

"Ow!" my foot starts hurting when it gets snagged in those nasty roots I was trying to avoid. When I stop, it's mid fall, my forehead pressed against something hard and warm, something grasping my arms. Tentatively, I look up, craning my neck so I can see my savior properly.

The one who saved me is a muscular man with raven colored short hair, and a scar over his left eyebrow. He looks quite serious, and almost cold, but he helps me up nonetheless. I thank him, wiping myself off. Examining him, he looks like a kind of guy who's distant; dark hair, cold stare, white trench coat, black jeans. This guy is almost litterally black and white. But for some reason, I felt a certain comfort being in his arms.

"Where are you heading?" the boy asks – in monotone. For some reason, I get a bit flustered, but answer him anyway.

"The Fairy Tail guild," I answer quietly.

Seemingly astonished, he asks me if I was going to hand in a request to the guild Master. I simply said no and asked him if he could point me in the direction of the guild. He told me the way kindly, but finally, he said that he could walk me to it, since he was going there also. My (e/c) eyes sparkled as I smile at him and excitedly accept his offer.

We walk along in silence for the most part. I feel better being with someone else, now that I'm not lost. And this forest isn't actually so bad. The air is crisp and crystal clean, fillling my lungs with pure oxygen, filled with natural ethernano, not artificial, like from magic mobiles [:A/N: a.k.a. magic pollution]. The trees are also very pretty here, unique compared to others, and a perfect habitat for the singing birds. Their everywhere, and it's almost as if their working together to make one song. The roots are still a bother, but now that I think about it, the only thing connecting tall trees to the Earthland's ground are the roots. Without roots, trees would just look wrong. When I was younger, I pictured forests as scary places meant for monsters, but their beautiful places for much more than just that.

After a while, I get a little bored. My companion is a quiet one, so a secretely look to my side to examine him once again. He's strong looking and stiff. But he doesn't seem like a bad guy. He's actually pretty handsome too. My cheeks suddenly warm up and my eyes widen. What am I thinking? I just met him, I can't compliment his figure yet. But he is really cute.

"So what s'you come here for anyway?" The boy asks looking at me.

"Well, actually, I'm a wizard. I've been practicing (f/m) for a few years now," I answer him sheepishly.

"And you're planning to join the Fairy Tail guild, huh?" he asks in interest. I nod my head and smile at him. I'm sure it'll be great there.

"Hey, you told me you were going to the Fairy Tail guild too, right? What for?" I ask curiosly.

He answers me that he was a wizard at the guild there. His name is Gray Fullbuster. I asked him what magic he uses and he said that he uses Maker magic, Ice-Make to be specific. That means that when I join the guild, I'll technically be working along side him. Again, my face heats up and I turn my face away. We continue walking quietly side by side until I hear rustling from the bushes. I stop walking and Gray does too. Something jumps out, making me scream and jump back, instinctively hugging the nearest thing with my eyes closed.

"It was just a squirrel, there's nothing to get worked up about," says the voice of what I'm holding. I inhale sharply and stop breathing. What am I holding. I look up slowly, realizing it was Gray. I apologize quickly, letting go of him – although  relunctantly – and standing in front of him. But the moment I do so, I'm left dumbstruck, staring at his chest – his bare chest. A feeling of red heat slowly crawls its way through my cheeks like ants crawling out of their home.

I keep staring at him in silence, my heart pounding against my own chest. Wasn't he wearing a shirt before? And a coat too? Was I imagining that. I suddenly feel myself shaking back and forth gently, bringing me back to reality. I look up at the dark haired man, looking down at me with soft eyes.

"'You all right?" he asks softly.

I lift my right hand and then drop it to a 90˚ angle, pointing at his chest, "Where's your shirt?" I ask bluntly.

He suddenly becomes flustered – his cheeks a cute kind if red – as he complained about something like he must've left it behind when we were walking this way. I laugh cheerfully and ask him why he would randomly take off his shirt without realizing. He told me the story, that his master, Ur, would make them strip in the dead snow. I laughed to hard at that. Then I asked him where his master was, which turned out to be a bad idea.

He suddenly gets really sad. "She's dead," he says simply. Those two words brought an immense pain to my chest. Death scares me when other people experience it. How can someone live with such a burden? Being left alone by someone you care about very much... never seeing them again. It must be so hard.

"What about your parents? What are they like?" I ask him, hoping to up the situation. But I just made it worse. He shakes his head solemnly, making me shut up on the spot.

We continue the walk to the guild quietly. Everything seems to have gotten thick all of a sudden: the air, the sound of the chirping, the tension. I shouldn't have said anything. I just made him feel bad. I could've stopped at his master, but I had to continue. Why did I do that?

Gray stops walking after a few minutes. I stop too, turning towards him. He starts walking up to me, then hugs me. My heart starts pounding again, that treachorous red pool settling in my cheeks. He whispers something in my ear, "I forgive you," and then lets go and walks ahead of me. I'm left staring at the nothing part of the forest, still shocked from his sudden act.

"You coming or not?" he calls. I snap out of my nothing world and run next to him as we head to the guild.

Gray's P.O.V.

We finally arrive at the guild, where (y/n) gets her guild stamp and is welcomed in the guild by everyone. She seems to be getting along with them well. I wasn't sure she was that kind of person at first, she seemed to like the quiet a lot. But now I know. And there's something about being with her that makes me feel... comfortable.

She's beautiful also. Her (h/c), (h/l) hair swaying a bit as she laughs, her smile lighting up the entire room. And her beautiful (e/c) eyes just makes me feel so warm inside. I hope she enjoys being in the guild.

I watch her walk to the request board, examining the papers curiosly. And then I walk up to behind her. When she reaches for a paper, I purposely reach for the same one, landing my hand on hers.

"Hey-!" She half yells, but stops the moment she sees me.

"Would you allow me the honour of accompanying you on your first job?" I smile. She smiles back with a cute tint of red on her cheeks, and she nods.

Since then, they became partners, working every job they could. Eventually, they became less shy, and expressed their feelings. And so they lived happily ever- well, you know how it goes.
