"Natasha Tan, you have been handpicked to set up our latest branch in Korea, following the recent investment from Naver." Tasha looked intensely at her CEO as he said this.
"It has been a unanimous decision and we believe that you are the best candidate for this. On top of that, it has been made aware to me that you are fluent in Korean Language. That is a big advantage when you are there representing us." continued Mr Tay, CEO of RoseSnap, the most popular fashion shopping app in the Southeast Asia region.
Tasha sat quietly in her seat, dumbfounded by the news she just received.
Tasha did not expect that she would be receiving life changing news when she was speeding her way to work. She made it to the office 10 minutes before the meeting started.
"Thank you all for the opportunity and trust in me. However, I would like to know more about what this entails. How long will I be there? What would be the success metric for the project?" Tasha tried her best to be professional and not let the news cloud her brain.
Inside, she is screaming and her heart is beating so fast that she felt that she could pass out from the news. She has never lived alone in her life, what more leading such a big project in a foreign country that she knows no one.
"Our main goal is to win the whole of Korea..." That was the last thing Tasha heard before she went blank. Can she do it? Will she mess up?
"...there you will meet Kim Minha, who will be closely supporting you for the next 2 years. Do you have any questions?" Mr Tay calmly asked. The rest of the meeting room, which had about 12 other people, just nodded their heads in agreement to what their CEO said.
It is clear that everyone had discussed this extensively without her and if she were to turn this down, it would cause a lot of hassle for them to find the next best candidate.
"You are young, very talented and resourceful. I believe you are more than capable for this new role." Mr Tay continued.
Tasha turned her head to look at the rest of the people in the room with her. Everyone looked at her expectantly, with bright smiles on their faces.
"New role?" The last line intrigued Tasha. What did Mr Tay meant when he said that? Is she getting a pro-
"You will be promoted to Vice Growth Director, focusing on Korea for the next two years." Mr Tay said, cutting the monologue in Tasha's head.
Tasha couldn't hide her excitement with the big smile that appeared on her face when Mr Tay continued his speech.
"For now, please consider this and make a decision by tomorrow at 9am. A lot has to be done by the end of this week. If you accept, you will be in Korea this time next week."
"Thank you, Sir and everyone for the opportunity. This is really a lot to take in and process. I would have to move very fast if I were to accept this. Let me get back to you by tomorrow morning." Tasha said, after calming herself down.
"Even though you've been here for 5 years now, I'd like to say this to you like how I did when you first joined us. Welcome to RoseSnap, where things move fast." Mr Tay looked at her with a smile full of teeth while the rest laughed.
Tasha can't help but question what she has just gotten herself into.

Tasha looked around the airport for a petite lady carrying a sign with her name on it. She was supposed to meet the only other team member she has in Korea, Kim Minha.
She had only seen a picture of her from the profile given by her HR team. Minha had also sent her an email last night, informing her that she will be picking her up from the airport and to look out for her.
