It was 9am Korean Time when Tasha woke up on Tuesday. It was only her second day in Korea but she had woken up fully energized to take on her new life in Korea, even though she woke up 1 hour later than she expected. Korea is one hour ahead of Singapore, so she would still need to get used to waking up one hour earlier than what she was used to back home.
Her doorbell rang as she stretched after switching off her phone's alarm. She slowly got out of bed and walked to her door in the dark as her doorbell continued to ring. The curtains in her living room were still shut, as she had closed it the night before.
The doorbell was still being rang repeatedly when Tasha opened the door to see a formally dressed Minha, who was carrying a brown paper bag and 2 cups of coffee in her hands. She had a bright smile before she greeted her cheerfully.
"Good morning Ms Tasha! I hope you had a very good rest. Omo, why is your apartment so dark?! You should be enjoying the beautiful view of the Han River! I'll put my things on your table here and let me help you open the curtains." Minha pushed her way into the house and proceeded to do as she said before Tasha could say anything. As bubbly as Tasha is, it was too early for her to have human interactions, especially with how she just woke up just a few minutes ago. However, she let Minha in without a word and proceeded to close her door.
Minha had opened all the curtains and let the natural sunlight in her apartment when Tasha reached the table that had coffee and food. She could smell the inviting scent of coffee and scrambled eggs with bacon as Minha walked, or should she say pushed, past her. Not even the beautiful sights outside her window could distract her and her rumbling stomach from the true source of happiness at that moment.
"I brought us breakfast as I thought you would need some adjusting and might not have had breakfast yet. Did you manage to take a tour of the estate last night? Omo, did you see any celebrities yet?" Minha asked excitedly as she started opening the contents of the brown paper bag that she had brought.
Tasha sat down across from Minha as she thought about what she did on her first day in Korea. After being greeted by Minha at the airport, they ate a small restaurant that had very delicious Korean food. Minha might have ordered too much in her excitement to expose her to delicious Korean food. Tasha ended up packing the excess food and brought it to her new apartment for dinner. After the meal, Minha insisted on driving the long way to her apartment so that Tasha could see the beautiful sights of Seoul before driving her home.
It might have taken her four hours before she reached the apartment after landing in Incheon Airport, but she certainly wasn't expecting the beautiful estate and even more beautiful apartment she would be calling home for the next 2 years.
Situated at the outskirts of Seoul, right beside Han River and the Seoul Forest, was the estate of apartments that CEO Tay had so kindly let her stay in. While she was in the car on a bridge crossing towards her new apartments, she watched in awe as the car came closer to the entrance of the estate of expensive, modern looking high-rise apartments. When she got off the car and took the elevator up to her apartment situated in the high floors of the building, she can't help but feel like she was at a very luxurious apartment building and started to wonder how much the apartment might have cost CEO Tay when he bought it. What happens if she accidentally breaks a pipe or damages any of the furniture? She didn't trust her clumsy self in such an expensive place, what more for 2 whole years?!
When she entered the apartment, the curtains were all closed and the apartment had very cooling air conditioning and ventilation. It's almost as if the apartment was new and unused.
"CEO Tay stayed here the most when he visited Seoul. He liked this apartment the most that he decided to not have it rented. Now, you can call this your home! Just remember to keep it very clean, HR told me to inform you that the CEO would like this apartment back in one piece. I'm not sure what they meant by that though." Minha rambled on as she proceeded to show a laughing Tasha around the apartment. HR and CEO Tay definitely know her tendency to break things in her possession.
