Chapter 4: Trouble

The next day

Your POV

 I wake up to a pounding headache and a sore throat. I roll out of my bed to get some medicine so I can go back to sleep. I trudge down the hall one hand on my head and the other on the wall to keep my balance. I get to the bathroom and open the medicine cabinet. Crap, nothing. I then groan and head to the kitchen rubbing my throat. Maybe some soup will help. As I turn the corner I see Phantom sitting at the counter. okay cool. ......WAIT! WHAT!?!? HOW DID SHE....W-WHY IS SHE???  I stand there looking at her confused and scared. She then looks at me with her usual emotionless stare "Oh you're awake, it's about time too. Mortals sure like to sleep a lot you know that? Anyway here drink this and get dressed we have to go to the police station." She slides a mug over to me. Its filled with a weird dark purple liquid that looks pretty suspicious. "It's medicine it will help with your headache and sore throat." Wait how did she?-- "You're headache and sore throat were caused from throwing up, now hurry we have to get going." I hesitantly take a sip before chugging down the whole thing. It felt nice and smooth going down my throat and the fuzziness in my head cleared up. I put the mug down and hurry to my room to change. I then went to the living room "Ready?" "Uhh yeah why are we going to the police station?" "I'll explain on the way come on."

Author POV

The two started to walk down the street "So uh why are we going to the police station and what does it have to do with me?" "Weeeellll Scourge, being the dumbass that he is, was caught by the feds on his way home last night and you're the only one that can bail him out. He used his one phone call he got and told me to get you." "Wait why me instead of you?" "I'm wanted by the city on many accounts and I've already used up all my favors with my connections with the police." This caused you to be more concerned. As you both arrived at the station Phantom handed you some money. "Here this should be enough to get him out." You then headed inside.

A while later

Phantom's POV

3....2....1....now  Gunshots came from the building along with shouting, very annoying shouting then Scourge came out with his girl slung over his shoulder. "Took you long enough." "Well sOrRy but some fucking idiot tried to put up a fight!" he shouted as he ran over. We then started to run away from the citys' limits and deep into the forest.

Your POV

 "Um can someone please tell me what the heck is going on?! I am so hecking confused first I was just calmly working on getting Scourge out and then the next freaking thing I knew I was picked up and there were bullets flying around my head!!!" I yell making Scourge flinch nearly making him drop me.  Suddenly I'm being put down and I feel myself being embraced "I'm sorry I bet you where scared, but we had to use you as a diversion, it was the only way." His words sounded sincere yet calming. Being in his arms is so calming and made me feel so safe. I wanted to stay like this for a bit longer but Scourge let go and took a step back. "You're not hurt right?" he said while checking me for any injuries "Dude calm down she's fine." Phantom's voice seemed to snap me out from some sort of trance. "Why else do you think I didn't go in?" she continued "Now come on the sirens are getting annoying plus they are getting closer." 

Author POV

The two then followed Phantom as she ran deeper into the forest. Soon the three came to a cliff as the sirens followed by the distinct yells and shouting seemed to be closing in on them. You look over the edge of the cliff to see waves of water clashing against jagged rocks. You then take a few steps back and turn to see Phantom a few feet back. "You guys ready to jump?" she asked while stretching her arms. The two looked back at her with worried expressions. Confused and scared you finally manage to stutter out a response "Y-You can't b-be serious right?" "Well unless you want to be thrown in a prison I suggest we jump." She then started to run full speed and leaped off the cliff plunging deep into the waters. You looked over the edge to see her a distance from the rocks "Are you crazy?!" you yelled down to her "Yup! Now come on you cowards!" she yelled back. You then felt Scourge grab your hand. Turning around to him you see a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Oh come on tell me we're not gonna j--" before you could finish your sentence Scourge planted a kiss on your lips. He pulled away with a smirk on his face, you stood frozen with shock making him chuckle. "Come on its now or never." You both then got a running distance, clasped hands and leaped off the cliff.
