My day started out just like any other. I ate my breakfast, helped my father with my sister's training session, did my chores, and finally, it was time for my favorite part of the day. It was time to go see Raven. Before rushing excitedly out of my house, I slung my pitch-black metal bo-staff into the holder on my back, put about thirty smoke bombs, and about fifteen shurikens into my pouch, along with my black metal tessen that had a Night Fury on it, the symbol of the Strike Clan. Grabbing my hooded cloak as I ran out the door, I was stopped by a voice.
"Remember, do not let yourself be seen my daughter. I assume you are staying with Raven overnight?"
I rolled my eyes at my father and sensei. "Yes Father, I'm staying over at Raven's."
"Very well," He sighed, "But I hope to see you home tomorrow in time for your training session."
"Fine, bye!" I shouted as I jumped into the air and flew up to Raven's mountain. Yes, flew. I am a half-dragon kunoichi. Both of my parents are too, looking partily human, but with wings, tails, and claws. There are many tribes, Deadly Nadder, Stormcutter, Monstrous Nightmare, my family belongs to the Night Fury tribe of the Strike Clan, so we have the eyes, ears, and spines of a Night Fury.
I finally reached Raven's cave, a very well hidden place. Hard to find unless you knew where to look. I landed softly and looked around. Although this peticular mountain wasn't popular with humans, you could never know, tourists were weird like that. After deeming the coast clear, I lifted a rock, a hollow one, and slipped into the tunnel underneath. The tunnel went on for a bit, before I came to a large clearing.
"Raven!" I shouted, "I'm here!" Nothing, most likely, she was going to try a surprise attack. Or she's sleeping, I thought when I heard snoring from another room in the series of caves. Standing in the doorway, I could see her sleeping form on her nest. "Raven!" I shouted again. The dark form on the nest stirred, and scales brushed against stone as she slid off the slightly raised nest.
"Nyx" She greeted, coming into the light. A Night Fury crawled across the stone, Raven was blacker then night, with a star the color of blue plasma on her chin.
"Raven, you ready to go?" Another thing about being half-dragon, we understand the dragon toungue.
"Uh let me think, yeah!" Raven ran towards the tunnel.
"Hey wait for me!" I said as I ran after her. I jumped out of the hole and replaced the rock. I then jumped into the air after Raven. We flew down to the forest, dodging the trees and any other obstacles just for fun. Spotting a lake, I called to Raven to come back.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Want a bite to eat?" Raven glanced at the lake, seeing why I stopped.
"Sure." She then jumped into the air and glided down into the water. I pulled my hood up as she burst back up to the surface, and landed next to me.
"Where's the- Oh please no." I complained, realising that she had swallowed the fish, and would recurgitate them.
"What?" Raven may have known what I was talking about, but didn't let on.
"You know I don't like puked-up fish!" Raven huffed in exasperation.
"It's not puke- Oh forget it." She stuck her head in the water for a minute and came up with a fish, which she dropped in front of me. "There, you happy?"
"Thanks!" I rubbed her head a bit and Raven blew small flames at the fish.
After we ate our food, we were about to fly back up, when Raven screeched. I whipped my head around to see Raven writhing in pain.
"What? Raven, what happened?!" I exclaimed as I ran to her side.
"Change-Changewing a-acid." She squeezed her eyes shut and I looked down at her leg. Sure enough, there was acid eating through her scales.
"Vanish..." I breathed out.
"Very good hybrid." A smooth voice spat. I looked around to see if I could find the source of the voice. You see, not all dragons accept dragon/human hybrids, some see them as impure because humans are lesser then dragons. Vanish the Changewing is one of them, he's constantly trying to get at me, and Raven for having me as her company.
"C'mon Raven, we have to go." I mutter.
"I don't think so..." I heard a slight hiss and narrowly missed being hit by a glob of acid. Raven got up, and took off, but didn't go far, for Vanish had switched his attention to her and spat acid at Raven's right tailfin.
Raven screeched and crashed on the ground, as the membrane in between her tail bones was burning.
"Raven!" I cried out and helped my friend up. "We need to go, I'll distract him."
"Nyx...Don't. Too-too dangerous." Raven struggled out.
"Don't worry, I'm a ninja, I can do this. Just till you get far enough away." I muttered under my breath. Raven looked worried for a minute, but nodded.
"Fine." She sighs. "Just don't get hurt okay?" She muttered back. I nodded, and stood.
"Vanish! Show yourself!" I shouted. "Or are you scared?" Nothing happened for a moment, then the air rippled and a Changewing stood ten feet away.
"Scared?" Vanish snarled, "Of a half-dragon hybrid?" Acid was spilling out of his mouth, and his eyes were in slits. "Never." I pulled my bo staff.
"Oh yeah?" I glanced out of the corner of my eye, Raven was nowhere in sight. Time to disapear. I pulled out a smoke bomb and held it up.
"What is that?" The Changewing narrowed his eyes. I just smiled slightly and threw it at the ground. It exploded and released clouds of black smoke. I could hear Vanish coughing as I jumped into the trees and headed in the direction Raven had gone. I finally caught up to Raven, and we ran alongside each other. I glanced behind me, and didn't see anyone, well, I wouldn't, he was a Changewing! He could camouflage into his surroundings so perfectly, he gave the illusion of invisibility. But I would still be able to see his blurry outline, so I assumed we were safe.
"I don't think he's follow-Hey!" I said as Raven stopped suddenly, causing me to run into her. "What is it....Whoa." I turned to see what she was looking at. It was a tall blue box.
