"Hello to you, too...."

Had he walked inside a dream?
Or maybe it was an illusion, the fog playing games with his mind.

"....Eda Yildiz."

The smell of flowers assaulted his senses. She was more beautiful than he ever remembered. And Serkan wanted nothing more at this moment than to lift his hand and touch her.  He didn't trust his eyes, nor his heart. Touch could be a solid proof that she was real.

"Are you real?" The voice cracked, and his lips connected into a pained smile. The man lowered his head, taking his eyes away for a while.

She reached for him then, taking his hand.
The warmth of her skin started spreading into his own.

How many years passed? How many days? How many smiles, tears and heartbeats away?

And how many more would pass.. because for sure she wouldn't come back to him.

It is cruel to live in a world without love, but it is more cruel to live without hope.
When Serkan had lost his? When his brother died. And then, when he found out about his father being responsible for Eda's parents deaths.

Hope dies slowly. But it dies.

His skin sucked her warmth but his heart was still surrounded with thick white fog.

He took his hand away. The bitter smile never died on his lips.

"You didn't expect to see me here, I know. I've been back in Istanbul for a couple weeks now. I work with Raul."

It was Eda that broke the uncomfortable silence, this time.

That surprised him even more.

"You work with Raul? "

"After I graduated, he offered me a job at his company in Rome. I told him I wanted to come home and he gave me a job here. It's a small architecture company but we still have the chance to work with the best."

She smiled as her eyes pointed at him.
Serkan stood there stunned, not finding any words to reply to all this.

"He told me, you know."

Those words made him look at Eda sharply. He just needed a little time to process all this, but she just kept hitting him with more surprises.

"He told you, what?"

"That it was you that sent my file to him. That's how he decided to give me the internship."

"Eda..."

Something in her eyes made him not finish this sentence.

"Shall we go in? Raul is waiting." He said instead.

She knew it was a lie. It was still early and Raul was never in time for the meetings, anyway.

"Ok, Serkan Bolat. Lead the way."

The heavy fog was all around them like a cloud of smoke.
Eda closed her eyes, taking a heavy breath, keeping her step a match to his, as they were walking together.

And then it was when she felt it.
The faintest of touches at the back of her palm, as he walked a bit closer for a moment.

She closed her eyes to savour the feeling as it travelled throughout her whole body.
