I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and ready to go. Today is mine and my moms most important day. Today is the day we go shopping for everyones Christmas presents. I quickly opened the bags that i got from Tarence yesterday. I didn't get to check them yet. I opened the lightest one first. I unzipped the black bag and peered inside. In the bag were a whole bunch of t-shirts, tank tops, blouses, skirts, shorts, and different stlyes of jeans. How all this fit in there I dont know. I picked out the black lace t-shirt and grabbed a black tank top to wear under it. Then i rummaged through to find a pair of jeans. The pair i chose was a black pair with ribbon going through the front.

I opened the heaviest bag and inside was shoes as i expected. I pulled out a pair of black combat shoes and slipped all my clothes on. I put on a new clean layer of makeup using the techniques Tarence used. I brushed out my hair and it still looked the way it did when i got it done and that made me smile. I looked in the mirror closer and saw something hanging on my wardrobe. I turned around to see a black plasitc bag hanging on the handle. I stood up and walked over to it. I slowly unzipped it and gasped at the sight. It was a zip up leather jacket. I've always wanted one but could never find one. I slipped it on and smile brightly into my mirror then i skipped down the stairs to see my mother ready to go.

I smiled at her at the bottom step as she examined me happily. "Tarence?" I looked down. "Yes" She laughed and led me out the door. "Where to first sweetie?" She asked quickly glancing at me to the road. I didn't really have friends. I always spent the weekends by myself and sat by myself at lunch. So really i had no one special to buy for. I thought harder and still couldn't think of anyone. "Mom i dont have anyone to shop for so how about you?" My mom frowned a little but quickly put on a smile that look very very forced. "Well we can go shopping for your aunts and uncles first?" She suggested. I nodded and looked out of the black tinted window.

We came up to a Macy's and parked towards the front. The place was jam packed. I was surprised we got a parking place close enough to the door. Last minute Christmas shopping is what we always do. You get the best sales and its funny to see the people fighting over the last of something until its you. But we rarely ever get into those situations.

We walked through the isles and i waited for my mom to look for the perfect presents for everyone. She always seemed to know who wanted what and that was a quality i wish i had. "Mom how do you know what everyone wants?" i asked giving her a quizzical look. She laughed and looked at me. "You just have to pay very close attention to everyone. Thats how you know what they want" It made sense, but im not one for paying attention which made this an impossible task for me so i just left it at that.

Another good thing about my mom's shopping is she can make everything cheaper. She can get at least 3 sweaters for under 20 bucks when everyone else is spending that much for one. She always knows where the good deals are.

We walked out of Macy's with all the presents we need. I sat in the car feeling upset. I hated that I didn't have any friends. I looked at my mom as she put the key in but left it. "What mom?" She looked ahead and turned towards me. "You dont like it here in Michigan do you?" I looked down at my hands and then looked back to her curious eyes. "I just don't fit in mom" She smiled and turned the key starting the engine. "Then as soon as the holidays are over I'll look for a house in California. Then when you finish school say good-bye to the cold winters."
