Flashback-
She had silently left that one night as soon as her dear friend had fallen asleep. She had set out in search for Victor but instead, she spent the time hiding in the shadows of the woods. Watching the humans as they went about their own lives. Maybe, just maybe she had learnt a little tiny bit about these strange creatures while she did so.
She pressed on further each day, unknowingly going further away from NOLA and closer to a town called Mystic Falls. One day, in her solitude, she paused and closed her eyes, opening her arms wide as she did. She breathed in deep the woods around her. How she wished for the feel of the wind between her long swaying branches once again...
She gave a small twirl and giggled as she felt the way the wind danced in her long brunette locks. She stood still once she stopped her twirl and smirked playfully as she stared down the worn path before her. She gave another twirl and then a happy little leap into the air. The freeing feeling that came with this motion left her exhilarated. She continued to now dance her way through the rest of these woods. She spent the day doing this, playing her hands along trunks of fellow trees, making flowers and vines blossom and grow along her way. She called upon the life around her and it flourished.
Before she realized things, she had made her way through a small shower. Giggling as she lifted her chin to feel the sweet rain drizzle upon her lips and cheeks, her eyelids closed as her smile crossed her lips. There was an abandoned cabin along her path and she left up on the front porch, dancing and twirling about the support beams as she danced. She continued on through to the evening, the rain slowly turning into a thunderstorm. Eventually, she landed into a large puddle upon the ground, making her stop in her play. She had forgotten for a while what she had been out here doing this entire time. Indulgence of a brief need to be free once again. Like she had been as the willow. These storms she stood strong against over centuries, now made her fumble in large and muddy puddles, making her clothing all covered in dirt and mud.
She moved her hair from her face, then wiped the mud away. She frowned to herself thinking where she might go to clean all this up. The rain still coming down hard, she pulled herself up from the puddle and sighed. She now walked the rest of the way through he remaining evening.
By the time morning came, the rains finally stopped and in the misty morning that greeted her, she found a river with small pooled areas. She smiled to her luck and stepped down towards them. She would clean herself in these.
She sank into the waters still fully clothed and sunk under the water. She emerged back up and sighed from the fresh feeling that came. Then, she stripped the dress from her slender body. Having washed off the mud and dirt from clothing, she swam tho the edge and set them gently over a low hanging branch then dipped back under the water. The feeling of the water flowing around her body sent calm feeling throughout. She ran the palms of her hands through her locks of hair as she stood up in the middle of the small pool, her naked body a shadow through the mist as the faint rising sunlight tried to melt the mist away. As far as she knew, she was all alone from all other creatures, other than those her her beloved fellow trees that seemed to know she needed coverage. She spent the rest of the morning playing here in the waters before finally climbing reluctantly from the pool. She slowly stepped back into her dressings and sat on the branch to enjoy the quiet of the woods.
