The next day Alex woke up to Eli texting her. She looked at her phone and smiled as she read through the crazy text Eli has sent. She laughed and then texted Eli back and got up doing her normal daily routine. Dressing, washing, makeup, and the usual critasizim from her mom. She walked out the door and straight to school. When she was walking a car had run a red light making others swerve. She was half way across the street and it hit her. She let out a scream but it was stuck as she struck the ground. Cars stopped people got out of their cars and the ambulance was called. She felt nothing, her body was going numb and she was losing consciousness. People round her were yelling things and all she wanted was to sleep.
She woke up a long time later. The noises sounded familiar...a hospital. Two people were in her room. She tried to speak but words were stuck and her mouth felt dry like cotton. She didn't dare move cause she was in so much pain. She felt sore, she forgot why.
"Alex? ALEX YOUR AWAKE!" The voice sounded familiar but she couldn't place it.
"Oh my god, Alex, my baby...your awake." She could hear the sobbing in her mothers voice.
"M..mom..." Alex was hoarse and her voice was scratchy.
Her mother grabbed her hand and leaned over her bed. Her eyes were red, she'd been crying a lot.
"Alex, your friend Eli is here. I found your phone and called her. Alex you've been out for a week." Her mother sounded relieved bit as though she was going to cry.
Alex looked at the girl in her room and couldn't tell who she was.
"W-whos she?" Alex studied the girl
Eli gasped and covered her mouth starting to cry, "i-its eli...don't you remember me? I'm your best friend."
Alex felt horrible. How could she not remember her friend? She wanted to kick herself and curse herself, but she was too sore. She felt herself falling asleep again but she fought it.
"You sound and look familiar...but no...I can't remember you...I'm so sorry eli." Alex felt sick and wanted to throw up.
"I-its OK...I'm not going anywhere. You'll have time to remember...just ask if you need anything." Eli was on the verdge of crying but fought back tears and took off her glasses.
Eli looked like a mess her hair was a little tangled and her face didn't hold the sane glow. Her eyes were red and puffy and her face was pale. Her cloths were wrinkled from sitting and didn't look like she had changed. Alex closed her eyes then opened them and looked over herself. A broken leg, arm and a few of her ribs were broken as well. She started to cry remembering what had happened. She was hit by a car. The car had run a red light and sent her flying over the hood and onto the concrete while she was walking to school. She looked at eli and remembered she was her friend and that they had met a day ago. She felt miserable and was in pain. She just wanted to sleep. She felt unconsciousness tugging at her as she fell asleep.
