New beginings

Andy had been pushing for 20 minutes and just needed one more push and her baby would be born. She pushed with all the strength she had left and soon they heard the baby crying. Carina looked up at them and told them "It's A Girl, You have a beautiful and healthy baby girl." After cutting off the umbilical cord she then placed the baby on Andy's chest while the nurses cleaned the baby.

After about an hour Carina had finished checking the baby and Andy who were both fine. Andy now had a beautiful 6 pounds 14 ounces baby. Sullivan looked over at his baby and asked Andy her name. Andy without hesitation told him.

" Zakia Eden Herrera-Sullivan" she said smiling at the baby
" I love it."he said smiling at her.

After a couple minutes together Maya came into the room with the rest of the team. They washed there hands before holding the baby like Andy said. While some people were admiring the baby the others went to check on Andy.

" Hey mama bear how you feeling?" Vic asked
" Good, Just a little sore and tired." Andy said
" Well were happy to have a new fire baby" Ben said

They stayed and talked to Andy until visiting hours were over and they had to leave. They each gave Andy hugs and kisses and left. It was weird in the room since Sullivan and Andy only spoke moments before she went into labour and neither of they knew what to say.

" I'm gonna take a shower and get some sleep" she said " can you watch her?"
" Yea I'll watch her" he said " be careful and try not to put too much pressure on yourself."

She then got up slowly walking over to the shower. When she finally reached she took of her hospital gown and went into the shower. She stayed in there for 30 minutes before she came out. She was now in her baggy pj's and she went into her bed and took a nap.

When Zakia would wake up Sullivan would go a take care of her because he wanted Andy to get as much sleep as she needed. Sullivan fell asleep and Zakia started to cry again. Andy woke up this time because she needed to feed her.

She got out of the bed and took Zakia out of her bassinet, wrapped her in her blanket and brought her over to the bed. She sat with the baby in her arms feeding her. She managed to get Zakia back to sleep and she got some more hours in.

The morning came shortly after and Andy woke up to change Zakia and feed her again. Sullivan was still sleeping so she tried to be as quiet as possible but while changing Zakia she became fussy. Sullivan woke up and saw Andy changing her and asked if she needed any help:

" You need help?" Sullivan said with a sleepy voice
" We're all good, aren't we baby girl" She said picking up Zakia of the changing table and bringing her to the bed. "you can go back to sleep, im just going to feed her"

Sullivan went back to sleep and Andy feed Zakia which made her fall asleep shortly after . Andy decided to pack the things back into Zakia's hospital bag and then decided to call Maya and ask her to pick her up in a bit since she was getting discharged today.

Carina came in with the discharge papers for Andy to sign. She took one last look at the baby before leaving Andy to finish getting ready. While Baby Zakia was sleeping she decided to go take a quick shower and put on clean clothes to leave. Sullivan woke up while Andy was still in the shower and picked up Zakia because she was fussy.

When Andy finished showering she came into the room to see Sullivan holding the baby and got emotional. She then told Sullivan that they were leaving in a hour and Maya was coming to pick them up. He was confused.

" Why is Maya picking you up?"He said
" I live with her and she has the car seat in her car." She said " It's not like I could drive myself home."

Sullivan thought that he would be driving them to his house where they would stay. He quickly brushed it off and asked Andy when he could see the baby again. She told him that it's his child and he could see her whenever he wanted he just had to call first. After she said that she noticed Maya come in with the car seat and she placed Zakia in it.

Maya took the baby to the car while Andy went to grab the hospital bag and everything else that she needed. Before she left Sullivan told her that they would need to talk soon. She got in Maya's car and Sullivan went to his car. Shortly after they walked through the door Andy saw everyone there and they all shouted welcome home.

She was so happy to see everyone but she had to go put Zakia in her crib until she woke up. She placed the baby monitor beside the crib and took the other one outside with her. She then went to go speak to the crew.

" Well this was a surprise." She said smiling
" Maya told us you would be coming home today so we put this together last minute." Travis said
" Luckily today was our day off" Jack said
" Its nice to see you all again outside of the hospital. The baby should be waking up soon so you can get to hold her." Andy said

Seconds after she said that she heard Zakia crying and went to take her out of the crib. She went back into the living room and everyone just looked at how peaceful Zakia was after Andy took her in her arms. Then questions about Sullivan started to arise.

" So Andy are you moving back in with Sullivan?" Dean asked
" I don't know yet. We haven't really talked much since the station."
" Does he want to be in the babies life?" Vic asked
" Of course, you should've seen him holding her this morning. She looks so much like him." Andy said
" You don't have to answer this question but we need to know are you and Sullivan getting back together?" Ben
" Well at the moment I'm wondering that myself because he kissed me while I was giving birth." She said waiting for there responses
" Oh... well damn" Vic said
" Thats one way to put it." Jack said

After that conversation Andy heard a knock on the door and Vic went to get it since she was holding the baby.

" Andy it's for you" Vic yelled

Andy handed the baby to Travis and got up to see who it was. She arrived at the door and saw Sullivan. He asked if she could speak with him outside. She then went outside and closed the door behind her.

Back inside Vic told every that it was Sullivan. Everyone quietly rushed to the door hoping they could hear what they were talking about.

" What's wrong?" Andy asked looking at Sullivan.
" Nothing it's just we have a baby together and I don't want to have to drive all this way to see her I want to be able to open my door and see her sleeping in the next room, I want to be able to wake up next to you in the mornings and hold you. I guess what I'm saying is that will you take me back and move in with me." Sullivan said in one breath.
" Well it took you long enough." Andy said hitting Sullivan and then she kissed him.

They heard a sound come from the door and when they opened it that saw everyone leaning on the door. Andy looked at Sullivan and laughed. They then went back inside to talk some more and look at baby Zakia.
