After they decided to try and set Gastón and Nina up, Luna and Matteo sat down at the dinner table and tried to devise a plan to make sure their goal was achieved.
"So what do you think is the best way to get them back together?" Luna asked after a moment of silence.
"If they knew they have to walk down the aisle together, they probably wouldn't agree to the role in the wedding", Matteo rubbed his chin in a thinking gesture, "So it's probably best if we don't tell them that part."
"When is Gastón coming back?" Luna wondered.
"He's done with his internship at the publishing company in a few weeks. After that, he'll return to Buenos Aires," Matteo told her.
"I had no idea he was coming back. I was starting to think he would stay in England", she said, surprised she didn't know much about Gastón's plans.
"He always planned to come back. I believe he wasn't ready yet until now. He did graduate a year ago", Matteo explained, holding her hand.
"Why now though?" Luna frowned because she didn't really understand.
Matteo scratched his neck nervously and answered: "I might have told him that Eric and Nina broke up."
"But they broke up years ago and you managed to keep it a secret for years. You know Nina asked us not to tell him anything. Why did you tell him now?" she pointed out, confused about the entire situation.
"Well, we both avoided talking about her for a long time but I think he couldn't hold on any longer and just straight out asked me about and it slipped out. You know I can't lie to him, especially because he sounded so sad when he asked about her. His tone was killing me," he looked concerned telling her this.
"You don't have to look so worried, get it but you know? It's kind of beautiful yet sad how in love with each other they still are", Luna thought back on the face Nina made when she admitted that she never really loved Eric. It was obvious she still had feelings for Gastón but she's been so in denial for years, they barely talked about it. It was breaking Luna' s heart to see her best friend so unhappy.
"No worries, Chica delivery, we will fix that." Matteo gave her an encouraging smile, hating to see her so upset about their best friends but also relieved that Luna wasn't mad at him for blabbing to his best friend.
"Okay, like we talked about, we're both going to ask them to be our best man and maid of honor at our wedding. That's the first step", she got back on track, resuming the discussion of their plan. Determination clearly visible on her face now.
"Right, it would be hard to refuse. What are we going to do when they find out about each other's role in the wedding?" Matteo asked, worried about what would go down once they do. They would both probably be upset and feel awkward about it.
"I don't know, I hope we can bring them back together before the wedding but I think that's going to be hard", she was visibly nervous about their possible reunion.
"They do still love each other. They're just too afraid to give into their feelings. Getting them to admit what they feel wouldn't be that hard", he was sure about this, his typical Chico Fresa smile was on full display.
"You're so sure about your matchmaking abilities", she chuckled, still loving his cocky remarks.
"Don't you remember? I'm the best at everything I do", he teased with a big grin on his face.
"How could I forget?" she playfully rolled her eyes.
They're both laughing, loving how easy it is to get back to their usual bickering.
