The entire village was in shambles. Dead bodies strewn everywhere. Mostly civilians with no way to fight back. Others, shinobi that were caught be surprise or couldn't fight the hordes on there own.
Konoha had to start building defenses. Unknown to them the other ninja villages did the same. Due to the zombie apocalypse, trade with other ninja villages had ended. If you wanted something you had to venture into the outside world. The only way to contact the other villages was by bird or by summon. That is if the other villages aren't still fighting zombies.
Food supply was starting to run low and Tsunade, Shizune and Sakura were all working 24/7, helping the wounded and they were running out of medical supplies. If they were bit, then there was nothing they could do but kill them out of mercy.
There were still some zombies left, but we're being dispatched by the ANBU and ROOT. Little villages such as Wave were annihilated with no ninja force to help them. Naruto took all this the hardest. The Hyuga Clan, while not a big fan of Naruto, were very grateful that he saved Hanabi from the undead.
It has been learned that the undead can use chakra. There were two types of zombies. Civilian Zombies have no chakra and walk slow. While Ninja Zombies can use chakra and can run. There were also subcategories in the Ninja Zombies such as Hyuga, Inuzuka, Aburame, Akamichi, Nara and Yamanaka.
People from these clans exhibit different types of mannerisms and attack. (I'll explain by the end of the chapter.)
There was a funeral for Iruka and the other fallen. Naruto and Konohamaru had cried the hardest. After the funeral Naruto just went home. He couldn't even eat any ramen.
It had been an entire week since the invasion of undead. In a rage, Naruto beat up Orochimaru in the Kyubi Cloak. Thanks to Yamato they were able to suppress him; but then realized that if Naruto, or any Jinchuuriki for that matter, was turned into a zombie then they were screwed.
The Academy was filled with the bodies undead. They we unsure what to do with them. Bury them, burn them or test on them. Orochimaru asked for that but Tsunade didn't want to make anything worse.
Sakura burst into the Hokage's office. "Lady Tsunade! We need to do something! The food and medical supplies are running short!"
"Then what do you suggest we do, huh? Go outside?" She said sarcastically.
"Maybe. Form a scouting party. Send them to look for supplies."
"Really now? And just who would be willing to go?"
[Forest of Death]
"Stupid zombies. I'll kill them. I'll kill them all!"
Naruto was raging on the zombies. Destroying them left and right with the Kyuubi Cloak. He already had three tails. Any more and he'd be out of control.
"Naruto-kun?"
Naruto looked around and saw Hinata looking at him with concern. She came closer and Naruto dissipated the cloak. Naruto fell on his knees and cried. Hinata wrapped her arms aruond him to give him comfort.
He spoke in a somber tone. "Iruka-sensei was one of the first people who ever believed in me. Why did he have to die?"
"I believe in you, Naruto-kun."
"...Thanks Hinata, but I have to be alone right now."
Although feeling slightly hurt, she complied. "Oh...I understand."
Hanabi asks Hinata a question. "Onee-sama. What's wrong with him?"
"He misses Iruka-sensei."
"I see." She looked at the boy who saved her life. "He doesn't look like much."
Hinata looked as if she took great offense to that. "Naruto is one of the strongest people in the village!"
She formed a sly smile. "So he's the one you like."
Hinata sputtered. "Wh-What makes you think that?!"
"You're kind of obvious."
Hinata started to glow red. "...Y-Yes, I l-like him. Anyway, we'd best be off. He needs some time alone."
"Yes, Onee-sama."
Before they could head home they were attacked by a stray zombie. Thankfully, it was a civilian type, but it had a strong grip on Hanabi.
"Noo! Let go!" Hanabi wailed. Hinata quickly activated her Byakugan and use her Juken to knock the zombie back a couple of feet.
Naruto finally stood up, grabbed the zombie's head with one hand and punched it in the face with the other. Due to his anger his fist went through the zombie's head.
Hinata heard Naruto mutter under his breath with a manic grin.
"...kill...zombies...Iruka..."
"...Naruto..."
{CITIZENS OF KONOHAGAKURE, THERE WILL BE AN MEETING IN FRONT OF THE KONOHA ACADEMY AT 7:00. I REPEAT, AT 7:00 THERE WILL BE A MEETING IN FRONT OF THE KONOHA ACADEMY.}
"Another meeting..." Hinata nurtured. Tired of all the meetings they had to go to.
"Thank you...Uzumaki-san."
"Hn..." He just walked away ignoring Hanabi and Hinata.
"Tch. So rude."
"He's still grieving. Lets go home, Hanabi."
"Yes, Onee-sama.
--ZOMBIE DATABASE--
Civilian Zombies are just the normal and stereotypical type of zombie.
Ninja Zombies (originally called Shinobi Zombies but we thought it was sexist.) still retain their chakra and are able to utilize it by running and walking on walls and ceilings.
Hyuga Zombies have their Byakugan on at all times and if they see you it will chase you until it finds new prey or dies.
Inuzuka Zombies are the fastest type of zombies. Even through the zombification process the Inuzuka Zombies still hold their bonds to their Zombie Dogs and their senses are always on full blast.
Aburame Zombies send out bugs with toxins that depending on the amount sent out will either slow you down and drain your chakra so the zombie can catch up or will turn you. If the bugs are injected into you, you turn into an Aburame Zombie. Aburame Zombies have a hive mind and can contact each other.
Akimichi Zombies all they can really do is enlarge themselves and act as giants. They mostly stay in their enlarged form. (Like Attack on Titan)
Nara Zombies are the slowest of the bunch but obviously the most intelligent. They are the only type of zombies to use ninja tools to capture their prey.
And lastly, Yamanaka Zombies are able to use mind control on lesser zombies. Yamanaka Zombies act like royalty sending their minions to fetch their "food" for them.
While these are the only zombies recorded so far, we are sure there are other variants. Sadly, a few of the variants that we have recorded have escaped Konoha. These variants have intelligence and will know when to run. This database will be sent all over the Elemental Nations. If you find a new variant please record your findings. We need the knowledge of how they work to defeat them. Thank you and survive.
