"Oh great, another marathon." Leorio says as everyone follows Satotz into the fog, "I guess, but since we're running on wet ground now we're going to use up a substantial amount of stamina and energy." Kurapika nods, "I guess you can't use your skateboard anymore here huh?" I smiled at Killua, he chuckles. 369 applicants made it past, "Now everyone, make sure to follow close behind me." Satotz kept walking, everyone keeping a steady pace, the fog was getting thicker, I saw Killua look to the side, he runs closer to me, "Gon, Yuki. We should go up to the front," He saw Hisoka, "Mm, the last thing we want is so lose sight of Mr Satotz," I hum, "I just wanna put a little distance between Hisoka and us. Staying too close is dangerous, I can smell it." Killua carries Leorio's briefcase from me and holds my hand, "What?!" I blushed bright red, "The fog's getting thicker, it'd be bad if we get separated now." He averts his eyes, "Smell huh? I don't think he smells." Gon sniffs the air, "Hey Leorio, Kurapika. Killua says we should go to the front of the pack!" Gon yells, "Shhh! Say it with me Gon. Read the room," I whispered and pointed at all the examinees with stern faces, "You idiot! If I could reach the front I'd already be there!" Leorio shouts back, "Go ahead! We'll meet you there!" Kurapika shouts, "You two go ahead, after all, I'll be able to smell you out if we get too far away." Gon looks at us, we nod and he drops back with Leorio and Kurapika, "Come on, let's go." He pulls me after him, "Argh! Slow down!" I stumbled over my feet. The two of us ran to the front, we saw people ahead of us fall down, they were surrounded in a cloud of yellow dust, I pulled Killua's hand back, "Wait a sec, and turn around." I look at him, I took my hoodie off, "What are you doing?" He cocks his head, "Just turn your head around pervert." I say, he turns around, I take my shirt off and rip it into two pieces, "What are you doing?" He turns around, "PERVERT!" I screamed, he had a trickle of blood run down his nose, I quickly pulled my hoodie back on, I dipped the shirt into some water and I passed it to him, "Up ahead, Claymore Mushrooms, one whiff and you're done for. Tie this over your mouth and nose," I passed him a portion of the torn shirt, I helped him tie his and he helped me tie mine, "Ready?" I look at him, he holds my hand, "Let's go." He nods, we run through the poisonous pollen, "Keep them on. Up ahead," I used my free hand and pointed at pink butterflies in the air, "Hypnosis Butterflies, you'll fall right asleep if you take in their dust." I point at the sparkly pink dust coming from their wings, people started to catch onto Killua and my masks, they began ripping their shirts and dousing them in water to try and block out other potentially harmful or poisonous particles in the air.
"I'm getting scared, we're hearing people scream left and right, plus, we've lost the other guys." I look around, the fog was so thick, we couldn't see a thing, "It's fine, see, I told you holding hands is the best option," He smiles, I blush, we took a step forward, "AHHH!" We screamed, there was a portion of the ground that fell down and we were eaten? Frog-in-Waiting. "EWW!" I climbed onto Killua's shoulders, we were inside the frog, "Hey, hey, calm down, if you're gonna clamber over me like this, at least try stop thrashing, it's hard to stay balanced, if you don't I'll just throw you in this bile." He had a cheeky grin, "No!" I shake my head quickly, he laughed, "Well I've got the perfect plan for this," He takes out a can of juice, "Juice?" I cock my head, he uses one hand to open the can and his other to hold my leg so I don't fall into the stomach acid, "Hey... that's Tonpa's juice," I point at it, "Exactly," He smirks and pours it into the liquid, the frog started grumbling, "Get ready," He brings me down, "KILLUA!" I shuddered, I was waist deep in the liquid, I clutched onto his shirt, "We're in for a ride," He holds his breath and I do the same, the frog threw us up, "Argh," Killua shuddered, we both threw our makeshift masks off, they reeked of frog stomach, the frog started walking off, "Disgusting," I shuddered, the both of us laughed.
"Hey, look! Up ahead!" I pointed, Killua lit up, "The rest of the examinees!" He smiles down at me, we run over to the rest of them and follow Satotz, "And we're at the second phase!" Satotz stops walking, everyone looked around, they seemed delirious from running for hours on end. "I'm exhausted," I flung my arms around Killua's shoulders and laid on his back, he chuckled and flipped me around, he grabbed my legs and put them over his shoulders, "Killua," I laughed as he bounced up and down, never in my life had I ever had so much fun, the two of us laughed and bounced around with energy while the other examinees laid down in exhaustion, some closing their eyes and trying to rest for as long as they can.
