Isis POV

I woke to the smell of burning wood and leaves. On days like this the pack was busy running errands for the alpha ceremony. My brother, Osiris, was to become Alpha tomorrow. Taking over our father's place as head.

I yawned before I tossed my feet over the bed; letting my toes meet the cold, hardwood floor. As I made my way to my bathroom I slowly took my braids out of my hair. Gripping my toothbrush in one hand I brushed my teeth, and began to wash my face with the steamy warm water.

I threw on some boyfriend jeans with an over-sized T-shirt, slipping on my beaded sandals that were gifted to me by my beta, Ava. As a child of the Alpha and Luna it is required that each child had a beta to be at their side at all times until mated.

Ava was brave and strong, daring and courageous. Our souls were matched and bound together during the blood moon when I was ten years of age. We have been best friends ever since.

I skipped down the steps and proceeded to make my way to the kitchen. When I arrived, I was greeted with a bow by all of the teenagers from my pack. It was honesty weird to have children my age or even older bow down to me, but I was used to it by now.

"Someone slept well." I heard a voice as I just finished pouring myself apple juice.

I peeked up from my lashes to be met by a sly smirk from none other then Dallas Newman. Dallas was one of my closest friends, standing at a good 6 feet tall he made his way around the counter. Sitting himself on top of it.

I rolled my eyes.

"I did indeed." Was all I said as I turned to put the apple juice back.

"Well I came to tell you that Ava was looking for you. Something about finding you a dress for the ceremony, I dunno." I watched him toss a grape into his mouth and he gave me a innocent smile.

I stared at him.

"Where?" Is all I asked and he pointed outside the window, taking a bite of bacon.

I narrowed my eyes at the fool, snatching the bacon from his hand to eat for myself.

"HEYY!" Is all I heard but I had already left the kitchen.

It was about 1:00 P.M. and I was still looking for Ava. She wasn't the girly type, in fact neither of us were. So why in the hell is she so pressed about a dress? I'm a big girl, and I damn sure could find a dress on my own.

I was getting frustrated when I didn't need to be. Looking for Ava and an outfit when I wasn't even the one being named Alpha! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and I bumped into a hard shoulder.

"What the hell! Watch yours- lllllll Isis! Hi"

I looked up with a annoyed look, eyeing my beta in irritation. If looks could kill she would be dead.

"Now can you tell me where in the hell you've been? I've been looking for you for 2 hours Ava, TWO! Your scent is everywhere!" I semi yelled.

"I could ask you the same damn thing, I don't get you sometimes! And why haven't you been answering my mind links?" She questioned and I stared at her.

That's all I could do.

"You're such an idiot." I shook my head and she rolled her eyes.
