-Marnie-
"Hey, we still on for tonight at 6?"
-Marcus-
"Yeah, totally! Might be running a little behind schedule. though. The League decided last-minute they wanted to meet with the team from the Battle Tower to discuss something."
-Marnie-
"I mean, if it'd be easier to just reschedule..."
-Marcus-
"No, no, not a chance! We've been planning to meet up for the past three weeks, now. Who knows when we'll have another chance. Besides, I'm not expecting this meeting to run too awful late, maybe 15 minutes at most."
-Marnie-
"Oh, alright, cool."
-Marcus-
"Yeah! Also, I apologize in advance - I'm gonna be dressed like a total stiff haha"
-Marnie-
"Wait, what?"
-Marcus-
"I'm gonna be wearing a suit lol"
-Marnie-
"Oh, I didn't know we were dressin' all fancy for this"
-Marcus-
"No, nothing like that. Avery's got me dressing up for the meeting beforehand, and I'm not gonna have any time to change before I head over to meet up with you. Definitely don't worry about it, I only bring it up so you're not blindsighted when you get here haha"
-Marnie-
"Okay, thanks lol so how should I dress tonight then?"
-Marcus-
"Like I said, don't worry about it. Wear whatever you want, feel free to dress casual."
-Marnie-
"K"
-Marcus-
"I'll meet you at the train station downtown as soon as I'm done at Battle Tower."
-Marnie-
"6:15-ish?"
-Marcus-
"6:15-ish."
. . .
Marcus looked at his phone to check the time as he and Cinderace ran out of the Battle Tower.
6:17 PM
"Aw, crap, we're late!", Marcus shouted as he frantically bolted for the elevator to the Monorail station, his Striker Pokemon companion close behind.
As soon as the lift finished carrying them to the platform above, they broke into a full sprint towards the stationed monorail cart, barely making it onboard as it began to prep for departure towards the city square. Together, the duo stood near the door, each of them gripping to a handle suspended from the ceiling in order to maintain their balance as the cart moved.
With his free hand, Marcus grabbed his phone and sent a quick text message:
-Marcus-
"Hey, sorry I'm running behind, I'm on my way there right now."
