Firehouse 51 has always been Cassandra's home. She has followed her family's footsteps. Her father, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, all have been firefighters. She was no different. It was the Doyle's way.

She is the first girl ever to be on truck 81, she knew her father would be proud and her mother rolling her eyes. Women weren't supposed to put their lives at risk 24/7. It was a man's job, her mother always said. That's why when she when she turn 17 she went into the army. She made it into the Army Rangers. 

Multiple tours and one mission that Cassie wished she could forget. The only people that knew what happened was her ranger friends, Jay and Mouse. Will the past stay in the past?

Everything was now going to her plans, right? Back in Chicago, a firefighter with her childhood friends, what could go wrong?
