'Excuse me sir? Whe.. Where a.. am I?'
It was a busy street, in a city he didn't recognize. All people stared at him like he was a monster, and were moving away as far as they could from him. Everything was like a blur, a dream, nothing felt real. The man he approached didn't go away though, he stopped and listened patiently.
'Cyllage City. Are you okay sir?' The man answered calmly.
'I'm fffine' he pressed forward and nearly fell.
'We need to get you to the hospital right now!'
'Noo... No. It's okay, thanks... for your concern' he grunted before he continued 'But I'll manage.. myself'
He stumbled forward trying to keep himself up right, but it felt like his head was bursting and even taking one step was hard and required all power he had left.
'Please I can help you!'
He looked back and saw a blurry picture of the man before everything turned black.-----
David opened his eyes and tried to adjust them to the light. The blur got more clear after a few minutes and he could now see where he was. He looked around the room he was in and saw all the machines attached to him, it seemed like he was in a hospital. He panicked. He pulled out all of the tubes and needles from his arms and tried to get up from the bed. The machines started screaming and beeping. When he was halfway up he felt an incredible pain in his stomach. It hurt so much that he thought he would vomit, his head started spinning and he fell back against the backrest again. As he laid down, he lifted the blanket his shirt to look what hurt so much. His was shocked to see that his stomach was completely covered with plasters and bandages, as touched his ribs he felt that he had bandages around them as well. He was really confused and felt with his hands on his face, though it hurt, especially on the forehead. In the middle of his confusion and the machines beeping, a doctor rushed in to the room.
'What on earth are you doing? You need to rest! ''Where am I? What happened to me? '
'Take it easy. You're at the hospital. We do not know what happened to you, but you were in really bad condition when you came here and you need surgery again soon '
'Again? I've had surgery before? '
'Yes, but it is needed again unfortunately. A number of organs were damaged and you had major internal bleedings. A miracle you survived. '
After a while the doctor walked out from the room, and in came a man that somehow seemed familiar.'You're finally awake! I came as soon as I could. How do you feel?' He said and smiled.
'Who are you?' Asked David with a suspicious voice.
'You might not remember this but... I helped you here a few days ago'
'A few days ago?' He looked down at his hands. 'Do you know what happened to me?'
'Unfortunately not, we hoped that you would remember. All I know is that you were in really bad shape when I found you on the streets here in Cyllage City'
'Sorry I don't remember anything right now. I feel like I've been run over by a truck 10 times' David sighed and leaned back again, his stomach was hurting really bad. 'Wait.. Did you say Cyllage City?' He squeezed out through the pain.
'You had a really bad concussion and it's not weird if you've lost some memories... But yes, you're in Cyllage City'
'Where is that even?'
'Don't you know? The Kalos region'
'What the hell is the Kalos region?' David stared at him. 'How far away from Johto?'
'Johto? That's pretty darn far away, I don't know the distance but it's not around the corner exactly' He took David's hand in his and seated down at the edge of the bed. 'What do you remember?'
'Well... I do remember that me and my family were going on a trip, with our boat'
'That would explain how we found you' The man said and nodded.
'Huh?'
'You were all wet and bloody, walking up the street. We found the place you probably arrived at, and we found some trails of blood and a life west'
David stared shocked at the man. 'Where is my family?!!' He bursted out.
'I'm so sorry David ' said the man.
'Are they gone? Dead?'
'We haven't found anybody else but you'
David couldn't believe it, he stared out the window trying to get it all.
'So my family is probably dead...'
'I'm so sorry, but nothing's certain'
David didn't know how to react so he changed the subject.
'What's your name by the way?'
'Thomas Alden'
'I'm David'
'I left my number here, if you need something just call. Anytime about anything. I know what you are going through. I'll try to contact your family as soon as possible'
Thomas left him after a few minutes because that David needed to rest his head. But he had so much to think about, and with the thoughts that raced through his mind, it was impossible to sleep. He felt so empty inside. He did not cry, did not feel grief, he just felt empty. What happened out on sea? Why did only he survive?I'd love a comment! The next chapter will be out soon, and then you'll learn more about David, and pokemon will join the story ;)
