A child is born in a hospital The parents are not happy
"We need to get rid of it!", the mother seethes with anger. The child cries in the back of the car, the parents ignore her cries.
" I know, but where do we leave it", the father answers.
"Who cares where we leave it, just get rid of it for god's sake!! I'm sick and tired of hearing it scream, the little devil", she yells out scaring the child even more.
A few hours pass by
The car stops in front of a gate, the parents get out of the car the dark covering them from being seen.
"This will do for this thing, a military base is a perfect place for the little devil", she sets the basket in front of the gate the child only being covered by a thin blanket.
The woman crouches down in front of the basket. "Tch, hope you suffer here you disgrace of a child", she says her voice full of venom.
They both head back to the car and drive off, the only sounds are the child's cries, screaming from the cold and wanting comfort.
A patrol unit hears the cries from inside. "Sir, I hear cries outside the gate", the soldier announces to his commander with a salute.
"Cries? What kind of cries solder", the commander asks. The soldier relaxes the next few words baffling the commander. "Ch-child cries commander", he responds.
The commander stands up knocking his chair over in the process. "Where is this child!", he commands.
The soldier stands straight "We brought it inside sir, it's in the mess hall", he says answering his question.
The commander rushes to the mess hall the soldier right behind him. Once they arrive, they see soldiers surrounding something.
"What is the reason for this and where is this child I'm told of!", he yells out. The soldiers jump from his voice and stand at attention, saluting him. A small giggle is heard from the basket.
"Sir, we found this child outside the gate she seemed to have been abandoned here, sir!", one of the soldiers explained. "The child looks unlike any of us here sir ,a male with cat-like features says"
"How so?", he questions. "You should look yourself, sir, it's hard to explain sir", the same male explains.
"hm, fine I will take a quick look and then. . . . . . ", as he steps closer to the basket he sees a baby with small horns peaking through her messy brown hair, her violet-purple eyes shining with curiosity, a small tail is curled around her tiny leg.
"hmm, she does look very different than anyone here", he says looking down at her.
"She could be of use to us sir, we-we could train her sir!", the same male explains.
"Fine, she can stay but she's your responsibility you have to take care of her until she is of age, then we will train her and teach her beyond any other child", he says approving of the child in the basket.
"Yes Sir!!", the same male salutes his commander.
"Make sure you keep her alive Sargent Kai", he says to him.
"Yes, Sir!!", he answers back proudly, he takes the child back to his room and sets her on the bed, taking her out of the basket and wrapping her in a more warm blanket.
"Hmm, since you will stay with me you need a name. . . .hmmm", he thinks for a few minutes sitting on his bed.
He sits up a name popping up in his head," How about Quinn!! It means wisdom and intelligence!! How about it Quinn", he asks the child. The child looks at Kai and starts to giggle loudly liking the name that he gave her. "Quinn it is then!!", he says excitedly.
He yaws tired from the day, "How about we sleep now", he says tiredly. Quinn looks up at Kai struggling to keep them open. He laughs and turns off the lights and lay down on the bed Quinn lay in front of him an arm around her so she doesn't roll away.
They both fall asleep not knowing what lies ahead for Quinn's future.
