Today is Halloween, the day Clovis, Jennie, Daniel, and Sean have been planning for weeks. The night before, the four of them had talked and agreed to go to an abandoned hotel in their area they had found through research. They all woke up early and met up at Jennie's house to talk over the plans for the night.

"My parents won't be home for the whole night and part of the day tomorrow, you guys could come over to my house to get everything settled and put together before we head out," Jennie suggested. "Okay, text us as soon as they leave and we will head your way" Daniel responded. "Do you have the information we need to find the hotel?" Clovis asked. "Yes, it's only a five minute walk from here. It shouldn't even be that hard to see from the sidewalk," Jennie responded. Then Clovis, Daniel, and Sean went back to their houses and waited for Jennie to text them to come back over.

Jennie's parents left at 7:00, but just to be safe, she waited until 7:30 to text her friends. "My parents are gone now, I told them I am going to go with you guys to a Halloween party so that if they come back home, they won't question us on where we went and why I didn't tell them we were going anywhere," Jennie told them. "I'll be a little later getting to your house, I haven't told my parents anything about leaving, so I will have to come up with something before I leave," Daniel said.

After a few minutes, Daniel went with the same story as Jennie and told his mom that him, Sean, Jennie, and Clovis are going to be going to a Halloween party. He then got his jacket and grabbed a flashlight from his dad's shed and slipped it into his pocket before walking to Jennie's house. After walking for 10 minutes, Daniel finally arrived at Jennie's house. "We are just waiting on Clovis to get here and then we can leave," Jennie told him.

After twenty minutes, Clovis finally arrived. "What took you so long?" Jennie asked. "It took me awhile to convince my mom to let me go, but she eventually agreed to let me." Clovis responded. "Does everyone have flashlights?" Jennie asked, while opening the cabinet where her parents keep the flashlights, jumper cables, and a few other random things. "I have one," Daniel responded. "I couldn't find one, but I can use the flashlight from my phone until it dies," Sean said. "I didn't grab one because I practically had to push my mom back inside of the house just so I could come here, I didn't want to make her even more suspicious by asking for a flashlight, after telling her we were just going to a Halloween party," Clovis said. "Alright," Jennie said while getting herself and Clovis a flashlight. "We should go soon," Jennie told them while giving Clovis the flashlight and pulling her jacket on. "Do we need anything other than flashlights or do we have everything?" Jennie asked while looking out the kitchen window. "I think all we need are flashlights, it's not like we are staying the night there or anything," Sean told her.

They all grabbed their flashlights and headed out the door. "Which way are we supposed to go? Where are the directions?" Jennie asked. "I have them hold on," Clovis told her while motioning with her hand to move back. Once Clovis got the directions to the hotel, they all headed out. About three minutes into walking, the wind blew harder. "Shew, what is the temperature right now" Jennie asked while pulling her hood from her jacket up over her head and putting her hands into her pockets. "It's 31 degrees" Sean said while looking at his phone. Once they were a minute away from the hotel, Clovis started having second thoughts about going there. "What if we get caught? This is trespassing" she told them while freezing and wanting to go back. "It'll be fine, we will not get caught" Jennie told her while grabbing her arm and pulling her along. "You don't know that, what if someone sees us going in and calls the cops" Clovis said while pulling her arm away from Jennie. "No one is going to see us, stop worrying so much" Jennie told her while turning to walk with the guys. Clovis slowly followed them hesitantly, while pulling her jacket up so that only her eyes were visible. "What are you doing?" Sean asked her while laughing. Clovis rolled her eyes and pushed past him and got closer to Jennie. "How long are we staying here" Clovis asked Jennie while looking around to make sure no one was around to see them. "Would you relax? It's going to be fine. We are just going to explore it then we will leave" Jennie told her while yanking the jacket down from Clovis' face.

Once they made it to the hotel, Jennie lead them to the back of the building where it was all woods and where no cars would pass through. "There are no holes in the fence, how are we supposed to get in" Clovis asked, while still looking around to make sure no one was seeing them. "We're going over it, obviously" Jennie said smartly while putting her flashlight in her pocket and grabbing the wire to the fence then putting her foot into one hole in the wire fence. Everyone had gone over the fence other than Clovis, who was still paranoid about getting caught. "Are you guys sure about this, it's risky" she told them. "Live a little" Jennie said while turning and walking towards the broken window. Clovis sighed and climbed up the fence. "Guys...how do I get down?" She said while looking at the drop on the other side of the fence while clinging onto the top of the fence. "Just swing your leg over while holding onto the top of the fence, then climb down" Jennie told her, while climbing through the window. Clovis threw her leg over then the other one and came crashing to the ground. "Ow" she groaned while grabbing the fence and pulling herself back up. "I told you to hold on to the top of the fence" Jennie said while laughing. Clovis sighed while walking towards the window. "Don't fall in" Sean teased and laughed with Jennie while she was climbing in. "Guys, knock it off" Daniel told them while helping Clovis in.

After they all climbed in, they slowly started walking through the building. It hadn't even been two minutes, and they already were hearing what sounded like whispers and people walking around in the building. "What was that!" Clovis exclaimed, when she heard what sounded like laughter. "Calm down, someone else probably is here" Jennie told her while shooing her away. A loud crash came from the other room, which caused everyone to flinch and jump back. Then Jennie started going towards where the sound came from. After she had left the room and went into the other room, it was only a matter of seconds before they heard her scream in terror.
