After the war

A/N: This imagine takes place after the war and where Snape actually survives the attack from nagini

It's been one year since the wizarding war against Voldemort. You decided to continue your last year and graduate, but a certain professor was the reason you wanted to stay. Professor Snape survived the attack from Nagini, and helped fight against Voldemort, however, people have still not taken kindly to him killing Dumbledore. You and the golden trio have forgiven him but only because Harry told you all about what he saw in the professor's memories.

Knowing the truth behind the reason snape killed the headmaster you have made it your mission to stand up for him and make sure he doesn't feel alone and hated by everyone. At first you were worried that he wouldn't want to befriend a student but surprisingly, you guys became friends pretty quickly - always staying behind after classes to talk and spending your free periods with each other. As the months went by you started to grow feelings for the raven haired professor but you didn't want to ruin your friendship so you kept your true feelings hidden from him. Until one night Snape couldn't hide his anymore...

It was after dinner and you noticed how Severus has been acting down the whole day. You didn't know if someone had said something to him that day but no one dared to even look at him funny when you were around. Once dinner was finished you followed the professor to his office intrigued by his low mood and what must have caused it.

As you approached the heavy wooden door you could hear him sighing and sitting down by his desk. Instead of knocking you just walked in as you and Severus have gotten very comfortable with each other's presence. Snape looked up and gave a slight smile when he saw it was you, nevertheless his smile did not hide his dark brown sad eyes. Sitting across from him you started the conversation like always.

"Sev, you've been down all day. What's wrong and don't even think about saying nothing because I know better than that." You asked whilst trying not to blush at the way he was staring into your E/C eyes.

The professor let out another sigh before he answered " Y/N these past few months have gotten to me, I knew I wasn't the most liked professor in this school but being the most hated is terrible. But maybe I deserve it, I did kill Dumbledore after all."

You could feel your blood boil at his statement, he didn't deserve being hated on by all the students and he definitely shouldn't be thinking he does. "Severus you listen here and you listen good... you do not deserve any of the hate you're getting, Dumbledore was your best friend and he was the one to ask you to kill him! I know you didn't want to and I also know it was hard and that you cried days after the act, you're not guilty here, if anyone should feel guilty it is Dumbledore himself for having the nerve to ask you to do such a task!" You spitted out the name Dumbledore as if it was poison, it was true Severus had cried for days after his death because of the guilt eating up inside of him after killing his best friend but Dumbledore was the one to convince Severus to do what he did not the other way around.

At your words professor Snape let out a deep breath of relief what seemed like he was holding in for months. " how do you always know the right things to say" he smiled at you and you could feel your cheeks getting flushed. You couldn't even answer you were too busy blushing at his compliment.  Before you knew it The professor got up from his seat and walked around until he was standing right above you still smiling.

"I know this is wrong, what I'm about to tell you and I don't want to ruin our friendship but I can't hold it in anymore" he began.

"I have fallen for you Y/N, since the first day I saw you shouting at the students that were talking shit about me, you've been by my side since the beginning I tried so hard to not form these feelings but I can't deny it no longer. I love you!" Instead of answering you stood up on your toes and connected your lips to his, letting your tongues dance with each other. It was everything you imagined it to be, fireworks, sparks, butterflies, the whole thing. After a few minutes you had to pull back for air but you were smiling ear to ear with the confession you have dreamt of for the last few months.

"I love you too"

(Five years Later)

It's been five years since you and the professor confessed your love for each other. Since then you have gotten married and even moved in with each other. You couldn't be any more happier with the man you love. 

Every night you guys take a walk to just enjoy each other's company and the life you guys now have after winning the war. After all it was what brought you guys together even if Snape had to be hated on at first. That's right it may of took some years but eventually everyone saw how the whole thing effected Snape.

This night was just like the other nights walking hand in hand down the cobbled path leading towards the woods. You loved the scenery and you loved how you guys could just be free with each other. After walking for a while you guys decided to stop by a river.
Looking at the scenery you couldn't help but smile at the life you have.

"What's got you so happy?" Snape questioned looking over.

"You, us, our life together" your smile seemed to be getting bigger and bigger you truly loved him more than anything.

"You are the one who makes me happy Y/N, I don't know how I got so lucky to marry the most beautiful soul I have ever met. I will never understand how you fell in love with me all I know is now I've got you I will never let you go" Even after five year Severus could still make you turn as red as a tomato.

"I love you so much Sev" you snuggled up to his side and his arms snaked around your waist.

"I love you Always Y/N"
