New Friends

'Maybe...' I took a deep shaky breath as the mascara filled tears trickled down my face. 'Maybe we shouldn't do this anymore". The sobs at the back of my throat were threatening to spill at any moment. I regretted my decision to look up at him now seeing his eyes becoming glassy.

He quickly reached for my waist but I reacted fast and stepped back now being in the doorway to his room. 'Bella' he breathed. It took all of the strength I had not to crash myself into him and tell him how much I loved him. But I couldn't... I wouldn't. He had been the reason for all of this, all of the tears and pain. I needed to do this. But it was the last thing I wanted.

'Bella please' he sobbed. 'You don't mean that'.

'I don't want to be with you anymore Mattia.' was the last thing I said before turning around and walking up the stairs. My hand held in the sobs as I ran out of his house and into my car immediately letting them out. A slight feeling of relief washed over me as I realized that he wouldn't be able to hurt me in this way ever again. It was over.

8 months earlier...

Bella POV:

I stared at my white Nike socks as my feet rested on the dashboard of my best friend's car. I glanced at my phone quickly reading the time: 7:30 a.m. I let out an irritated breath before locking it and closing my eyes.

'Do you think she'll kill us if we sleep in the car? Technically we did show up to practice.' Lauren asked reading my mind. A small smile appeared on my face as I looked over at her. 'Yes Laur, I can hear her now...'

'THIS IS NOT HOW RESPONSIBLE NATIONAL TEAM PLAYERS ACT!' Lauren and I screamed at the same time before bursting into obnoxious laughter. A loud knock on the window immediately interrupting us. A petite figure appeared in the window.

'C'mon guys we're gonna be late and I'm not doing extra laps!' Madison yelled while sweeping her long black hair into a ponytail. I rolled my eyes before grabbing my sports bag and getting out of the car.

' 11:00 could not come any sooner ladies', I said wrapping my arms around each girls shoulders as walked towards to the gym.

'Alright ladies that's all, see you next week'. A collective sigh of relief was heard as every girl turned around to collect their things.

'Can we hit the mall? I need to step out for Halloween this year', suggests Mads looking at her Halloween Pinterest board.

'Yes please, I am starvinggggg'. I pulled my dirty blonde hair from the ponytail letting the curls fall around me.

We'd been walking around the mall for hours trying to piece together some good costumes. I'd decided to go as a generic fairy as it was a simple costume to find, Mads had decided on a sexy devil and Laur would be a cheerleader. We briskly walked across the parking lot with bags in hand when I felt a football tap the back of my feet. I turned around only to slip on the ball immediately falling on my ass.

'Shit', I winced standing up and picking up the ball.

'Oh my god, I am so sorry.' I looked up to see an extremely attractive boy jogging towards me. He had dark curly hair that sat nicely on top of his head, a really pretty smile and the sharpest jawline I've ever seen in my 17 years of living. He reached out his hand pulling me out of my daze.

'I'm Alejandro' he smiled brightly. 'Bella' I breathed out shaking his hand. I had just noticed the other two boys walking behind him. One was a similar height to me with black fluffy hair that had a blonde streak in it. The other one towered above the other two; he had dark curly hair similar to Alejandro's and a cute nose that took up most of his face.

'We said no flirting you rat fuck', the small one said. 'Hi, I'm Kairi and this is Robert. We apologize for our fuck boy friend he must've broken off his leash.' the short one said causing the three girls to laugh.

'I'm Bella, this is Lauren and Madison'. I said twisting around to point out my two friends. Madison has the biggest smile on her face, she has always been boy crazy. I mentally rolled my eyes at her in a daze.

'Oh my god! They can be in the tik tok, we were just saying we needed three girls', Robert said as if he'd just come up with the most genius idea on the planet.

Kairi quickly smacked the back of his head before turning to face us. 'Shut up Rob, we already knocked her over let's not scare her off too'.

I looked back at my two friends their eyes basically begging for me to say yes. 'We'd love to be in your tik tok', I smiled.

It took us all about half an hour to learn the stupid tik tok dance, but we were all having a lot of fun. I'd say we immediately got comfortable with each other... maybe too comfortable. Lauren and Alejandro were excessively flirting but I couldn't help but root for her, they did look cute together. Kai set up his phone about to tap the timer icon when he got an incoming FaceTime call from someone named 'Mattia'. He quickly hit accept and Robert pushed the rest of us out of the way to be seen in the camera. I couldn't help but giggle to myself, I thought Robert was adorable. The connecting sound was heard followed by a deep raspy voice.

'Let me speak to Ale' was the first thing the boy said as Alejandro rolled his eyes and shook his head at Kairi. 'Sorry bud I don't think he wants to speak to you right now', Kai said taking Alejandro's hint. At that moment a cold gust of wind hit and I couldn't help but let out a kitten sounding sneeze.

'Wait, who are you with?' asked the voice behind the screen. Robert wrapped his arms around us pulling us into the view of the camera. 'We made some new friends at the mall' he laughed continuing to push us. The conversation continued and Lauren and Madison went over to speak to Ale while I continued to skylark with Robert.

'She's pretty.' the voice breathed causing all of our heads to snap towards the camera and my cheeks to glow a bright red. 'Thank you' my tiny voice said while I tried to cool my cheeks down.

'No Bella, don't listen to him he has a girlfriend.' Kai said emphasizing the last word towards the phone. I shook the comment off and decided to go back to Robert.

Kai ended the call soon after that and we finally finished recording and posting the tik tok. 'Oh my god, if I get one more notification I'm throwing the phone away.' Lauren screamed causing the rest of us to laugh.

'Mattia just commented, you're gonna have to speak to him sooner or later Ale.' Kai said putting his hand on his friends shoulder.

'Yeah, what was that about?' I asked curious as to why the boy was giving his 'friend' the cold shoulder.

'I thought we were best friends until he decided to date my ex. I don't like her anymore but still, it's disrespectful and embarrassing. Plus we all said some things we shouldn't have when we first found out.' Alejandro said annoyed as he avoided eye contact with the rest of us. I simply nodded my head not wanting to pry anymore into his private life.

Eventually we retired to our cars, exchanging social media's and numbers before parting ways.

'We'll group FaceTime tonight it'll be so lit!' Robert exclaimed out the window of his car. We all agreed and then said our goodbyes. On the drive home, I couldn't help but continuously check my tik tok. I couldn't comprehend how the boys dealt with the excessive notifications and hate comments. I decided that I should probably get used to it now that we were friends with them. One comment immediately caught my eye and caused my heartbeat to quicken.

I liked the comment but not wanting to step on anybody's toes, I decided not reply after the boys telling me about his girlfriend and the drama in the friendship. I tapped his profile to see his attractive face all over the screen, I cringed seeing that the most recent video was of him and a girl called Vic that must be Alejandro's ex. Another notification quickly distracted me from my thoughts and caused tears to spring to my eyes.

Hi guys! This is my first story so I was kinda nervous writing this hahaha. Comment your opinion on Mattia and Vics relationship I'm interested. I personally don't have an opinion as I don't support either of them... I am in love however with the Wattpad version of Mattia lol.
