I decided to stay in America learning about the war I lived through, the war that destroyed my home, the war that killed my friends, the war that could've killed me, should've killed me, the war that I found out killed my brother, the war that put my family in poverty. It was fascinating to find out that the country that I hated for years was trying to control the country I loved, the country that was really the one to blame. It took a few years to learn English,  but I figured it out and I was one that would get asked things like, "how did it feel to come back to a destroyed home?" or "did you ever find out if your friends survived?" I would never answer because they were too personal for me, now I have retired and gave up on trying to find my friends, until one day, “Excuse me, excuse me!” someone said

“I don’t answer questions...ok?” I said while I turned around,

“Are you sure you won’t answer one questing? It isn’t on the news or anything!”

“ok fine…”

“Did you know Airi Ito?”

“Ya? Why? She died.”

“No look at my name tag” she said as she poked her name tag, Airi Ito it said,

“Wait you survived!?”

“Ya I went to Tokyo before the bombing, I blamed America for years, but I moved here and figured out it was Japan to blame!”

“Same!” We ended up getting married and living together, I continued to study war and became a history teacher.
