"I shouldn't have killed her" Midas spoke. He was sitting near the end of the Battle bus. A large blue bus capable of flight by a medium sized balloon holding it up. His head hung low. legs shivering from the icy wind that brushed against the windows, leaking in through the cracks from the poor repair jobs this bus has experienced in the past seasons. Him and 99 other individuals soared across the pale blue sky admiring the view below them. Midas was a young man, in his late 20s. Short, tattooed and was wearing a formal black suit. For a man about to jump out a bus 31,000 ft in the air, he didn't look the part. However, looking around he wasn't the only one wearing 'questionable' attire.
Placing a golden hand against the window beside him Midas was planning his drop. He was aiming to reach Pleasant Park, a so called 'beautiful landmark' located north of the island. A small town, busy with folk. Big and small. Children playing football and cars 24/7 rushing in and out to other parts of the island. Midas loved visiting the place whenever he had the chance to. People were friendly and they knew him well, offering him weapons and supplies to survive the rough environment and of course other players besides himself.
They all shared one goal and that was to get the victory royale, a reward given to players who proved that they were the best by being the last one standing from the 99 other people. Midas only had a few wins, not enough to say he was the best player in the world but, enough to say he wasn't bad at the game either. Some players around him hustled together like penguins discussing their plans and others sat alone, isolated. Unbuckling his seatbelt, Midas stood up. His stop had arrived. As he walked down the long aisle, His heels clicked against the metal flooring below him. They stared, they mumbled. They chuckled to themselves as he passed. "Another toxic game i see, the usual these days. These people share no sympathy, they're animals." Midas thought to himself not making eye contact with the other players, until he met face to face with the doors that brought him to an entirely new world. He thanked the bus driver before taking a deep breath, opening the doors. Keeping his eyes closed tightly he allowed the gust of wind to take hold of him.
