Chapter Three

The alarm clock was ringing furiously. I was so tired to turn it off, I gathered all my strength and turned it off. It was past seven. Wait! it is seven oh my God!!! Mrs Hopps is going to kill me. I jumped out of my bed rushed to the bathroom, wore my clothes a white shirt and a black palazzo and a block heel. I carried my car key and my handbag and collected all the file that I needed and I was off. I just pray she doesn't shout at me or think am taking advantage of her kindness because I know she is that kind of person.

"Damie, am going to miss you?" My mum said hugging me.

"Mum am still here in LA and I have not done the paperwork. I still have a couple of days left to spend it with you guys." I broke the hug and kissed her cheek. "Don't miss me too much. Derek is ready let's go."

"Bye sweetie, I'll be praying for you." She waved at me as she smiled, my dad had already gone to work. I drove down to Derek school.

"D, if you drop me at school everyone is going to go wild that my brother is Damien Smith," he said happily. I just smiled at him.

We got to his school he begged me to come down so that he could show that I was his brother. I had to come down. Things you do for a brother. Everyone that was passing stopped to looking at me they were whispering; Is that Damien Smith, it's him what is he doing with Derek.

"Okay, later Damie. See you at home" he yelled and winked at me.

"Bye Dek. See ya." I hopped back to my car. Am sure Dek have will many girls chasing after him and plenty friends.

I drove to Lex corps the place my dad told me I can find a contract lawyer. I parked my car in the parking lot. It is a very big office. As I entered the place, I could feel eyes on me, I was already used to that. I went to meet a girl whom I assumed to be the receptionist.

"Hey, may I speak to your boss," I said smiling at her? My smile was like a gateway to girls' heart, not that I use it in a bad way. She looked at me then blushed. Probably she is thinking she's in a dream.

"Damien Smith." She still had the shocked look on her face. "Oh. am sorry I'll call her," she said snapping out of her trance. She picked up the telephone and punched some digits and made the call. "She said you can come; her office is on the tenth floor." She said smiling. "Hmm... Sir Damien can I ask you for a favour." She said crossing her finger.

"Am listening." I already knew what she wanted. An autograph nothing more.

"Can have your autograph please." She said so calmly. I nodded and she gave me a book and I signed my name on it and took my leave. I entered an elevator taking me upstairs. I got to the office that has an inscription on it saying M.D the name inscribed there was Andy Hopps. This should be it I said to myself. I tapped on the glass door; I saw a woman she told me to enter.

"Damien Smith, it is an honour to see you." She said shaking me.

"The pleasure is mine Mrs..." I knew her name, just trying to be polite.

"Hopps, what brings you to my company"

"I need a lawyer, well a contract lawyer to be specific and I heard you guys have the best"

"Yes, we have," she answered sharply. She called someone through the telephone. She told the person to call Freeman if I didn't hear well. She dropped the telephone. "The person will be here shortly". There was silence between us, it was getting very awkward.

"My son has your pictures in his room, he says he wants to be like you when he grows up." she said breaking the silence "So I'll like it if you sign on this book so that I can give him, am sure he will be happy". I took the book and signed on it.

"What is his name?"

"Jake." I signed on it and returned it to her. "He will be thrilled." She sounded happy.

"Ma'am Freeman has not come to work. "A blondie said, she must be her secretary. Mrs Hopps looked furious and brought her phone and punched in some digits.

"Freeman! where are you?! come to the office immediately." she hanged up the phone. She had a cheesy grin on her face. Her secretary stared at me. "Diana don't just stand there! Make yourself useful". Diana jolted and turned away slowly. "Please wait our lawyer will be here soon."

"No problem I'll wait." I was not rushing anywhere so what's the hurry.
