I Wanna Test

There was so much going through my head I don't know if I should tell Jay or see if this child is mines.

Today is the day that I go meet this child who is eight, I pray and hope this kid don't look nothing like me.

"Jay I'll be back I gotta go handle something real quick" I grab my keys and left out the door.

I call her up and to see where she was at, she wanted to meet at Piedmont Park. I made it there and sat in the parking lot waiting for her to show up, Before I tell Jay anything about this I got to make sure this kid is mine. To my understanding how could I have an eight year old child? This shit don't even make sense to me. A white dodge had pull up beside me and it was her, here's goes nothing.

I told Aug to meet me at the park, I was sorta nervous about this but hopefully we both can get through with this.

"Do I have to really meet this man that I haven't seen or known for years"? Dominique said while leaning against the car door.

"Yes, look I know you a bit nervous cause I am as well. Just be calm and if you don't want to say anything then don't". I told her, we both got out the car to meet August by his car waiting leaning on the front of it.

As we was standing face to face in front of each other, Dominique was playing with her nails not really looking at August way.

"So this must be the child" August say looking over at Dominique. "Yeah this is her, Dominique I want you to meet August who is your f-"

"Wait before you even speak, let me get to know her first" I shook my head in understanding so I look at Dominique motion for her to speak even though I told her she didn't have to say nothing.

"How about me and you go grab a bite of ice cream then we can head from there" August say to Dominique, she look over at me and I mouth to her it's okay. She look at August and nodded her head and the both of them walk over to the ice cream stand.

Later that afternoon.....

"So did you tell her that you was her father"?

"No, we don't even look alike. I enjoy having a conversation with her but we don't have that bond, I wanna test just to see if she's mines".

I can't believe I'm hearing this right, "August what you mean you want a test? Do you not remember what went down after your little concert. We slept together so I'm one hundred percent sure that you're the father".

"I still want the test, I'll call you first thing in the morning so we can go get the DNA test, it was nice knowing and seeing you Dominique" he said then walking over to his car.

"It was nice seeing you to" she say rolling back up the window. "Okay if you want a test then we can do it" I tell him then I got my car and was headed back to Chaunti house.

"What all did y'all talk about"? I ask Dominique while looking straight ahead towards the road.

"Just what I like and what he did for a living, but mom I got a question" she say looking at me.

"Gone ahead and ask I'm listening".

"Is he really my dad"?

To be honest I don't even know, I'm not really sure my own self. I was messing around with other dudes. "We'll find out tomorrow baby" I say, I hope he's the father.
