Hello! Welcome to the strange and wonderful world of Zirna :)

In this book, you will find swords, broken hearts, stolen crowns, betrayal, love, fire-breathing creatures and at least one song about radioactive mould (shout-out to Zayn and his band, Luminescent Marginalia).

Zirna is a wonderful place, but it can be confusing at times — so here's a handy map to help you figure it out!

The nine nations are as follows:

Shimasor

Desert. Heat. The city is composed of mirrors to reflect the heataway and simultaneously acts as a defence shield of concentrated heat and light. It's at the center of the circle, and has the most direct access to Lake Animae, a neutral territory.

Ruled by King Fotea.

Balutu

Volcanic mountain range. The palace lies underground, in the heart of obsidian rock, safely buried away from the icy landscape outside.

Ruled by Queen Eknobia.

Vrontir

Frozen nation, and lovers of frigid weather. There is an icy sea surrounding the palace, and the city is made of ice and stone.

Ruled unofficially by Queen Eknobia.

Agmirrah

Snow and ice kingdom. While the western half of the country is home to a large temperate grassland, the majority of the population live in the higher altitudes to the east. There is a large dome that shelters the city from the frigid climate. The palace itself is made of ice, but it doesn't melt even in the heat of the dome. Some say that it's enchanted. Home to the Eastern Glacial plateau. Archaic. Palatial.

Ruled by Queen Aqzia.

Mishtar

Imposing city of stone that stands firmly against the marshes of the land and the hallucinogenic gases that run rampant through the kingdom. Home to storm lake, which swallows half of the country. They've learned to harness storm energy to power their factories.

Ruled by King Tolcom.

Zibhok

Bleak, scorched landscape, and home to the Neralim desert. However, the sand is rich with minerals, and the capital city is made of radiant glass and gemstones.

Ruled by Queen Ireefa.

Sehalle

Initially, a floating island existed in the middle of the marshes. However, after an experiment went awry, the citizens live in a purifying bubble under the surface of the marsh. Also contains the terrifying and legendary Shadow Ring.

Ruled by King Enscius.

Alesehra

Lush forest territory. The palace is made of vines, trees, and a brilliant white marble, and it's located at the convergence of two rivers.

Ruled by Queen Diasoma.

Munhit

Warmer sea and city (almost tropical) made from living coral and floating wooden structures that connect the land and the water. Also home to the Thesian Ice Shelf.

Ruled unofficially by Queen Eknobia.
