𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗨𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗝𝗝 had spent the last half an hour at the Ambroses' house trying to convince Rebekah and Noah to allow their daughter to spend the night and John B's. It wasn't that they didn't trust the group, or that she'd be drinking and spending the night with boys. They adored the group and loved that they included their daughter in their quirky fun. Secretly, they'd allow anything if JJ was present. Rebekah and Noah wanted the kids to spend the night at their house, as other than Kiara's house it was the safest storm-wise.
It wasn't until Rebekah remembered that since the disappearance of John B's father he'd refused to sleep any place other than his own home in case his father returned home in the middle of the night. Coming from the heart of an optimist, Rebekah respected the boy's thoughts and never pushed him but assured her house was always open. That being said, she realized that John B would be alone unless the group stayed with him during the storm.
"Noah, I think if Venus promises to phone home by lunchtime she can go tonight." Her husband nodded in agreement adding his own conditions, "And she watches Seb and Rhys tomorrow night as we have an important dinner."
Before anyone could protest, JJ chimed in his conditions. "And JJ gets to help out with the watching of Sebby and Rhys on this night."
"Any other conditions, JJ?" Noah asked playfully as he cocked an eyebrow up.
The blond boy paused to think, his eyes landed on the leftover food on the table before lighting up. "I have to take the leftovers tonight."
Of course, we never had an argument. Secretly, Rebekah always made extra food in hopes that the boy would end up taking it home, or wherever he spent the night. She was unfortunately aware of his home conditions and it took everything in her to not adopt the boy and keep him in her house. Sadly, Noah had looked into it a couple years back and it wasn't possible without parental signatures and it took a lot to prove that it was an unfit household, plus the fact that JJ was in denial about the abusive relations.
"Only if you insist." Noah playfully groaned, he loved JJ like he was his own. Now, not quite fond of the other pogues, he had some understanding and middle ground with them.

Later that evening, Venus found herself laying on the couch in John B's living room trying to find something to pass the complete boredom she was in. The storm had knocked out all the power, not that she wanted the internet or the tv, but it also meant the group couldn't safely surf. Safely, might I emphasize on, as JJ had been trying to convince everyone to go surfing for the past twenty minutes.
Everyone being Venus and John B, as Kiara and Pope were both at their own homes safely tucked away from the storm's path. Venus was laying against the couch and somewhat on JJ's lap, as the boy had one arm slung over the back of the couch and the other holding his vape, unable to use it as Venus was playing with the rings on his fingers.
"I'm serious, we should go surfing." JJ huffed in boredom.
Venus rolled her eyes, "You're so lucky you have me to ground you and keep you alive."
"I keep myself grounded," JJ argued, "I'm like the most humble person I know."
"Are you serious right now?" John B asked, raising an eyebrow in question.
The blonde girl and boy threw their heads back in laughter. Venus, nearly choking on her laughs, managed to get out very few words, "He's quoting Andy Samberg, never stop never stopping."
"Oh my god," John B groaned in embarrassment and JJ's laughter became louder.
"How- how-dude? How did you not catch onto that one? Venus was obsessed with that movie for a whole fucking year."
