Ever since Alexander was a young boy, he'd heard of stories of mythical creatures from the Sailors, ones of alluring Mermaids, even ones of gods. Yet he heard tales of many other creatures from Much-older sailors, especially from his father. Those of Sirens. Dangerous beings so similar to Mermaids.

He always loved the tales, and went sailing with his father often to maybe meet one of those Sirens, even if that would result in death.

He was 19, and off with his buddies on the water. "Dimanche dernier, Herc et moi vu une dame dans l'eau, Elle avait une queue et des nageoires." His dearest friend, Lafayette, softly said, looking out to the cold. Deep. Dark. Ocean water.

Alexander rolled his eyes slightly, "Yeah right Laf, no Lady would be out in the water this time of year. It's cold as fuck."

"mon amie, you have to believe me! She was, we saw her." Lafayette sighed, he looked straight up, "Merde, Storm is, how you say? Wheeling in?"

"Rolling in."

"Right, a storm is rolling in, at least it looks as so from the dark clouds." He stated, shifting uncomfortably in his seat, a chill rolled down his spine.

Hercules stood up from his grey chair that he stole from his ex-girlfriend, "Babe, get up." He flatly said, and slightly snickered as Lafayette stood up.

Alexander rolled his eyes, making a quick pace to the captain's deck of the small boat, he was planning to get home before it got too dark. His thoughts began to wonder about what Lafayette said. Had he really seen a woman in the water with a tail and fins? Or was he just lying to make Alexander get all excited that those old tales had been real.

After the next while on the water, they hadn't left since Lafayette had requested they say and catch some fish. No one disagreed with him since he probably would cook the fish for dinner. Alexander still had that thought at the back of his head. Could Sirens actually be real? Could all those stories about sailors going missing be linked to them?

He tried pushing that thought away, and it worked for the most part. After a bit of fishing, the most they got was Cod. It was probably getting much later since it was so much darker than when the storm had first begun to brew.

"Herc, could you take us home? It's gotten way darker than I thought it would." Alexander said in a slightly scared tone, he had to get home to his pregnant girlfriend.

"Damn, are you that chicken? Just a bit longer! It's not doin' us any harm" Herc replied in a cocky manner, even if he had always been one of the most intelligent of the group.

"Mon Amour, do you hear that?" Lafayette asked, in a hushed tone.

"Hear what?"

"That! It sounded like the sweetest singing, comme un ange!" Lafayette playfully smiled, seeming almost too excited, "Could we go to.. check it out?"

"Hell ya! Maybe we can find a Mermaid! I heard they're hot" Hercules have a chuckle, yet Lafayette didn't seem so impressed,

"Okay okay, they aren't as hot as you Baby."

"Je vous remercie." Lafayette sighed.

Alexander knew this was a horrible idea, a very horrible idea. And just in one faint gust of the wind, he heard it, and it grew louder, and louder. A panic rushed over him, seeing that Lafayette and Herc were now not in the boat, but now in the water, "Yo, Herc, Laf, get out of the water." Alexander warned, but was brushed off, as the two swam off. In the cold. Deep. Dark. Water.

He had the Urge to jump into the water and swim to the sound of that beautiful singing. That heavenly singing.. He tried so hard to fight it, but couldn't. Next thing he knew, he was swimming, and as he got farther out to sea, the singing grew louder, and louder.
