Alice
I quickly got up from the bed grabbing my clothes and running off to the bathroom. I dressed myself and tried to dash out the door without saying a word to Alex. As I rushed for the door he grabbed my arm. Staring into my eyes.
“I’m so sorry, this wasn’t supposed to happen.” He said.
I looked up at him. “I don’t wanna talk about this right now Alex, I gotta go.”
And with that I made my way out of his place and hailed a cab back to our loft. What on earth was I thinking? I felt a heavy pain on my chest; my heart ached for Abel, and what I’ve done to him. I would never be able to forgive myself for this. Thankfully I don’t have a shift at Marc Jacobs until tomorrow; I have the rest of the day off. I felt like a complete idiot.
As I laid in bed I cursed myself for drinking, when suddenly my phone lit up with a phone call. Abel. I quickly picked up.
“Hello?” I stuttered.
“Hey baby! I miss you, why didn’t you pick up my call last night?”
I felt horrible.
“I’m sorry Abel, I worked till late, and I was so tired when I got home.”
Lies.
“Aw that’s okay, only three months left, and I’ll be home.”
I smiled at the excitement in his voice.
“I know love, I miss you.”
We talked for about a half hour, and the entire time all I could think of was how stupid I was. He caught me off guard a few times asking me if everything was ok. He didn’t deserve this.
I decided to get up and go see Maria, I haven’t seen her for about a week now. I need to get this off my chest. I didn’t wanna sit and sulk all day in our loft. I took a quick shower and got dressed and was out the door in no time.
I was back at our old apartment. Man I miss this place, I knocked on the door to be greeted by an unfamiliar face.
“Hi!” She smiled.
I looked over her shoulder, to see Maria getting up off the sofa as she saw me.
“Hey Alice! This is my new roommate! Angela meet Alice, Alice this is Angela.”
I smiled and shook her hand.
“Nice to meet you Angela.”
“You can call me Angie.” She giggled.
