after what seemed like forever, we hopped of the train, out into the freezing cold of the wet night. the carriages were waiting, so me and pansy got in one to wait.

over the summer, i changed my style, which seemed to surprise pansy. this year, i had grown out my hair, and let its natural raven colour fade back in. i wore it gently curled, in a high ponytail, with little pieces pulled out to frame my face. before i had always worn contact lenses because i hated my emerald green eyes, but i decided to embrace them. today i was dressed in cropped pastel green jumper and some black skinny jeans which showed of my curves which i had gained during the holidays.

'hello? lucy!'

'oh sorry pans...daydreaming' i said with a small smile on my face.

blaise zabini, one of my closest friends, climbed into our carriage dragging my worst enemy, draco malfoy with him. malfoy glanced my way with a disgusted look on his face, then he raised an eyebrow at my new look, and i smirked in return.

'hey draco, sit next to me' said pansy looking hopeful, she had had a crush in him since first year.

'nah im alright' malfoy said as he sat next to me instead. it was my turn to raise an eyebrow (which was on fleek💅)

blaise looked at me suspicious, and i shrugged.

when we got to the castle, the great hall was decorated beautifully as usual, it was one of my favourite places here. me, pansy, blaise and malfoy sat down on the slytherin table, draco next to me again. as dumbledore went on about classes and other boring stuff during his start of term speech, i felt a cold hand on my thigh, which sent tingles all over my body, but i refused to look, pretending i wasnt bothered.

'tuck in!' declared dumbledore.

'finally.' i muttered.

draco took his hand off my thigh to eat, which relieved me a bit, but at the same time i kind of wanted it there? no. malfoy was a snob who was selfish and he was a bully. i would not let myself be affected by him. ever.

the table was filled with pasties and soups, garnishes and puddings. i was so full after eating mac and cheese and a chocolate cupcake, so i grabbed pansy's hand and made her come up to our dorm with me. we unpacked, then we painted our nails, put on charcoal facemasks and danced to muggle music. after hours of giggling and gossip, we fell asleep on the floor, surrounded by magazines and sweet wrappers. god i'd missed her.
