Somewhere in the world
There is a girl in a meadow
Auburn hair with daisies plaited in
Where time moves slow
Where blue and blackbirds sing

Somewhere in the world
There is a boy ,books in each hand
He escapes into the tales
Where he can travel far away lands
Where he can go when all else fails

Somewhere in the world
There is a teenage pair in love
Their hands interlink, share the same heart
Where love is pure like sweeping doves
Where everything is right never apart

Somewhere in the world
There is a woman, broken-hearted
Her tears spill into mugs of tea
Where once they were together lovers have parted
Where people are lost missing parts of who they used to be

Somewhere in the world
There is a child dyeing
They were once full of boundless joy
Where no one will hear the tears they are crying
Where many will follow in their footsteps, little girls and little boys

Somewhere in the world
There's an old man saying his final goodbye
Death is like an expected old friend
Where nobody else quite knows why
Where there is blinding light and death's hand extends

Somewhere in the world
There is me writing this
Pouring out her soul and mind and hope
Where nothing is perfect but still it's bliss
Where I can be numb and free and cope

Somewhere in the world
There is a poem left unfinished
Because no one could find the words to rhyme
Where the poet had long since perished
Where no one wanted to finish it nor could find the time
