SIENNA TORRES longed for two things- first and foremost, she desperately longed for the dickhead athletes at her school to stop hitting on her.

She had thought after coming out that the nauseating advances from boys would subside, but if anything it unfortunately worsened.

Aside from that, the one other thing she longed for, despite how stupid she felt for wanting it- was to be captain of the dance team.

She loved dancing, and she'd dedicated a lot of herself to the team- whether it be meetings, spirit days, new routines, she was always ready for whatever. 

And, with the seniors graduating soon, the position was soon to be open in the Spring.

Sienna would be the obvious choice for captain, she was determined, strong-willed, and a passionate dancer. There was only one problem-

Joey Del Marco.

The girl that light up any room she walked into- because she was the fucking light, yeah, that girl was Sienna's competition.

It wouldn't be the first time that Joey was Sienna's only problem in an otherwise concrete plan, but it was still hurt to have to prove yourself against someone for a title you so desperately wished for and also knew damn well that you deserved.

However, even disregarding the whole captain debacle, Sienna already had a long unexplained dislike for the Del Marco girl that just seemed to deepen over the years.

Sienna thought that Joey was annoying, and loud, and also borderline a performative activist- but she kept those opinions to herself, and well, to her friends.

However, unexpected circumstances- to say the least- occur, and Sienna finds herself right in the middle of it, alongside the one person she'd never thought she'd grow to love.

And she can honestly say, falling in love with Joey Del Marco hurt a lot fucking more than having her as competition for dance captain.
